Built for hybrid meetings around one table

Hybrid meetings often put a few people around one table while the rest join from a screen. The Nearity A22 is a Bluetooth conference speakerphone designed for that setup. Instead of relying on one microphone, it uses eight MEMS microphones together with AI-based noise, echo and reverberation cancellation, which the manufacturer says keeps speech clear in noisy rooms and glass-walled meeting rooms. A full-range 5 W speaker covers 150 Hz to 16 kHz, so remote participants come through clearly at the table.

Pickup range, gain control and room coverage

The eight omnidirectional microphones capture speech across a 360-degree angle within a 5 m (16.5 ft) range. Automatic gain control balances volume, so a person at the far end of the table does not sound quieter than the person beside the unit. Full duplex audio lets both sides speak at once without speech being cut off.

For larger rooms, several A22 units can be daisy-chained over Ethernet cable, up to six in total. The manufacturer states this setup suits meetings of up to 30 people. Chaining lets you spread coverage along a long boardroom table rather than depending on one unit at its centre.

The A22 connects by USB-C, by Bluetooth 5.0, or through the included dongle. It supports Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux and, according to the manufacturer, needs no additional drivers or software. Touch buttons control mute and volume, so the person running the meeting can silence the room without reaching for the laptop.
