Overview
The Nearity USB Type-C Cable 3m is a 3-metre cable with a USB Type-C connector, listed in SmartRooms Qatar's video conferencing accessories. It suits meeting rooms, boardrooms and classrooms where a laptop or conferencing unit sits about three metres from its partner device. Transfer speed and power ratings are not listed, so confirm device compatibility when you request a quote.
What the Nearity USB Type-C Cable 3m is
The Nearity USB Type-C Cable 3m is a 3-metre cable with a USB Type-C connector, sold as an accessory in SmartRooms Qatar's video conferencing range. It is a cable rather than a conferencing device, so its role is to link two pieces of equipment in a room where they sit about three metres apart.
The facts to check before ordering
The manufacturer's data confirms the 3 m length and the USB Type-C connector, and places the cable in the video conferencing accessories category. Transfer speed, power delivery, video output and compatible devices are not listed, so none of them are assumed here. Send the make and model of the devices you want to connect with your request, and the SmartRooms Qatar team will confirm the fit as part of the quotation.
Where it fits in Qatar
- Boardroom in West Bay: the cable lets a presenter's laptop sit at the table while the conferencing unit stays on a nearby credenza.
- Training room in Education City: it suits a teacher's laptop at the front bench when the display or conferencing unit is a few metres away.
- Meeting room in a Lusail hotel: it works for short links inside the room, with the route planned around the furniture layout.
What to plan for
Measure the actual route between the two devices, including table edges, cable trays and wall or floor outlets, rather than the straight-line distance. If the route is longer or has bends, a longer cable or a fixed cable run may be needed, and a free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar can confirm this before you buy. When several rooms are being fitted out, one quotation can cover the full quantity, and purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders are accepted.

Questions about USB Type-C Cable 3m
What is the Nearity USB Type-C Cable 3m used for?
The Nearity USB Type-C Cable 3m is a 3-metre cable with a USB Type-C connector, sold as an accessory in SmartRooms Qatar's video conferencing range. It is used to link two pieces of equipment that sit about three metres apart, such as a presenter's laptop and a conferencing unit in a meeting room. Transfer speed and power ratings are not listed, so check them against your devices before ordering.
Is this cable a video conferencing device or a camera?
No. It is a cable, not a camera, speaker or conferencing system. It is listed in the video conferencing accessories category, so it is normally quoted alongside the room's main equipment. If you need a complete meeting room setup, tell the SmartRooms Qatar team which conferencing hardware you already own or plan to buy, and the cable can be quoted with it.
How long is the cable and is 3 metres enough?
The cable is 3 metres long. Before ordering, measure the actual path between the two devices, including table edges, cable trays and any wall or floor outlets, not just the straight-line distance. If the route is longer or has bends, a longer cable or a fixed cable run may be needed, and a free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar can confirm this before you buy.
Which devices can it connect to?
The manufacturer's data confirms the USB Type-C connector and the 3 m length, but it does not list compatible devices. Before you order, confirm the port type on each device, and send the make and model of your laptop, conference unit or display with your quote request. The SmartRooms Qatar team will confirm the fit as part of the quotation.
Does the cable carry video, audio or charging power?
The source data does not state data transfer speed, video output, audio or power delivery ratings for this cable, so this page does not claim any of them. If your setup depends on video signal, audio or charging over the cable, ask for the full specification in your quote request before ordering, so the cable is matched to the job rather than assumed to suit it.
Can it be used in a boardroom in West Bay?
Yes, as a short link in a boardroom where a presenter's laptop sits at the table and the conferencing unit is on a credenza nearby. A 3 m length often bridges that gap, but measure the table layout first. Plan the cable routing around the table and the room's fixed power and data points before the installation day, so cables stay out of walking paths.
Does it suit a school in Education City or Al Wakrah?
It suits schools fitting out classrooms or lecture rooms where a teacher's laptop sits at the front and the display or conferencing unit is a few metres away. School leaders fitting out several rooms can request the full quantity in one quotation. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the port type on each classroom device before the order goes ahead.
Can a government ministry or authority buy this through an LPO or tender?
Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat, and payment is by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. For a ministry equipping several meeting rooms, include the quantity and the device list in the request so the quotation matches the tender specification. Quotations are usually issued within one working day.
Is it covered by a warranty?
Products sold by SmartRooms Qatar are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. The source data for this cable does not state a warranty duration or terms, so this page does not give them. Ask for the warranty terms in your quotation so that your purchasing or tender file records the exact coverage that applies to this Nearity model.
Can you deliver it outside Doha?
Yes. SmartRooms Qatar delivers to all 8 municipalities of Qatar, including Al Khor, Al Wakrah, Al Rayyan and Mesaieed. Delivery timing is confirmed with your quotation rather than set in advance, so include the delivery address and required quantity in your request. Quotations are usually issued within one working day.
Does a hotel meeting room in Lusail need professional installation for this cable?
A short cable between two devices in a meeting room usually does not need major work, but SmartRooms Qatar offers professional installation for the wider conferencing setup. If the cable must pass through a wall, under a raised floor or along a ceiling void in a hotel or serviced apartment, a free site survey helps plan the route and fixings before anything is cut or drilled.
Should I buy this 3 m cable or a longer one for a large venue?
The 3 m length suits short runs. If the devices in a large venue sit further apart than that, the cable will be too short, so check the required distance before requesting a quote. Share the distance and the devices with the SmartRooms Qatar team, who can advise whether this model fits. The source data does not list other lengths, so this page does not recommend one.
