What the V410 is and where it fits

The Nearity V410 is a network-ready PTZ conference camera with NDI support, built for hybrid meetings where part of the team sits in the room and the rest joins from a screen. It pairs a 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor rated at 4MP with a 4x optical zoom and a 2.5x digital zoom, giving a 10x hybrid zoom range. Because the camera is steered remotely, one unit can frame a presenter, a whiteboard or a seated group without a dedicated camera operator.

In practice this suits a boardroom in West Bay where a leadership team connects with colleagues in Europe, or a training centre in Msheireb running a blended course with trainees joining from other cities. Image, zoom and pan

The sensor outputs 2K video. The aperture range is F1.6 to F3.1, with auto exposure, auto or manual white balance, and focus modes that include Auto, Manual and Smart Framing. The listed viewing angle is 99 degrees horizontal, 64 degrees vertical and 120 degrees diagonal. Zoom is operated from the remote, so an operator can move from a wide room shot to a close view of a speaker in seconds. The manufacturer states the image stays free of distortion at maximum magnification. The camera pans ±175° and tilts ±30°, a total of 350° horizontally and 60° vertically. Angle changes are made in manual mode only, not in tracking mode.

Audio pickup and noise suppression

The V410 uses an array of two MEMS microphones with noise suppression built in. The specification sheet lists a pickup distance of 1.5 m, and that is the figure to plan against when deciding where the camera sits. In a long meeting table or a lecture room where speakers move well away from the lens, add dedicated conference microphones connected to your video system rather than relying on the camera alone. Connectivity: NDI, RTSP and UC platforms

The camera supports NDI and RTSP, so it can feed a production switcher, a streaming encoder or any NDI-capable software on the same local network. USB-C connects it to a laptop or PC, and RJ45 is used for network streaming. The listed compatible platforms are Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex and GoTo Meeting, on Windows, macOS and Linux. The separate NearSync application is used to adjust settings and update firmware.

Planning the installation

The camera measures 166 x 153 x 153 mm and weighs 930 g. It can sit on a desk or shelf, mount on a tripod through its 1/4-inch screw hole, or be fitted to a wall or TV with the optional brackets. Before mounting, confirm the height, the lens line of sight and the cable route to the PC or network switch. The power input is DC 12V at 1.5A, supplied by the included adapter, so confirm the power arrangement for your wall sockets before installation.
