PVCCU8N001

What the PVCCU8N001 is built to do

The Prestigio PVCCU8N001 is a pan-tilt-zoom camera for rooms where people sit at a distance from the lens and the picture must follow speakers, presenters and whiteboards without a camera operator. It is an IP camera, so it joins a network through its RJ-45 LAN port, and it also provides HDMI 2.0, USB 3.0 and 3G-SDI video ports for systems that expect a direct feed. The gray body measures 238 mm long, 166.35 mm wide and 131.8 mm high, and weighs 1.39 kg.

Image quality and zoom range that matter in a large room

The camera uses a 1/2.5-inch CMOS sensor of 8.51 megapixels and records 3840x2160 video at 60 frames per second. Optical zoom is 12x across a focus range of 4.4 mm to 52.8 mm, and digital zoom adds up to 16x. Horizontal viewing angle runs from 71 degrees at the wide end to 8.2 degrees fully zoomed, and vertical from 42.7 degrees to 4.5 degrees. 3D and 2D noise reduction help keep the picture clean in dimmer rooms, while horizontal and vertical flip cover unusual mounting positions.

• Pan range of ±170 degrees and tilt range of ±30 degrees
• 12x optical zoom with 16x digital zoom
• Output formats include M-JPEG, H.264 and YUY2

Connectivity and control for existing room systems

Beyond the network and video ports, the camera has a USB 3.0 Type A port, a 3.5 mm audio minijack and USB audio support, so sound can travel with the picture. Serial control comes through one RS-232 port and one RS-485 port, which a room controller can use. The USB cable, power supply, remote control, quick start guide, warranty card and peeping cover are all supplied. The unit draws a maximum of 12 W through its 12 V DC input.

Where it fits in Qatar

In a boardroom in West Bay or Msheireb, a single camera at the head of the table lets remote directors see the chair and the presentation screen during a board meeting with colleagues in London or Dubai. In a lecture theatre at a university in Education City, the 12x optical zoom keeps a lecturer framed at the front of the hall without a manual operator. For a government ministry hearing room, a fixed camera position with a short cable run back to the AV rack keeps the setup tidy and easy to manage.

What to plan before installation

At 1.39 kg the camera suits a wall or ceiling bracket, but a bracket is not listed among the included accessories, so include one in your quotation if your design needs it. Plan the cable route to your network switch or video equipment before ceilings close, and check the included power supply against the 240 V, 50 Hz mains at the site. The source data does not list an operating temperature range, so confirm the environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team before mounting the camera near a window or in direct sun. The manufacturer's 12-month warranty applies, subject to local legal requirements.
