A 4K conference camera for small and medium meeting rooms

The Snom V420 is a USB conference camera that outputs 4K video at 30 frames per second over its USB 3.0 Type-C port. It is aimed at meeting rooms that seat a handful of people, and at staff who join calls from a desk or a home office. The camera measures 81 mm × 56 mm × 57 mm and weighs 139.5 g, so it sits on a monitor without taking up much space.

Continuous adjustment lets you frame one person closely at the table or widen the view to take in a full row of seats. Automatic exposure and light compensation raise brightness by up to 50% when needed, which helps when daylight from a window mixes with ceiling lights.

Audio pickup for group discussions

Three microphones work together: two omnidirectional units on the left and right, and one unidirectional unit in the middle used for beamforming. The frequency range is 20 Hz to 10.0 kHz, sensitivity is -38 dB, and pickup reaches up to 5 m. Around a table of six, participants can be heard without leaning toward the camera. Planning the installation

The operating ambient range is 5 °C to 35 °C, and storage range is -20 °C to 60 °C. Outdoor summer temperatures in Qatar regularly exceed 45 °C, so keep the camera inside an air-conditioned room, away from direct sunlight through windows and hot shelving. The built-in mount clip fixes the camera to a monitor or computer screen. Check the screen edge thickness and the cable route to the host computer, as the cable is about 2.2 m long. Power comes from the USB connection at 5 V. The package contains the camera, a 2.2 m USB-C to USB-A cable and a quick installation guide. Setup uses the Snom Connect Desktop App on Windows 10 or later, or macOS 12.0 or later.
