What the MVC S40 is and how it is built

The Yealink MVC S40 is a Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows system built for small to medium meeting rooms. It is supplied as four parts that work together: the MCore 4 mini-PC, the MTouch Plus touch panel, the SmartVision 40 all-in-one camera and audio unit, and the RoomSensor occupancy sensor.

Camera and audio for smaller rooms

The SmartVision 40 uses two 48 MP cameras with a 120° diagonal and 111° horizontal field of view. Its tracking options include IntelliFocus, Multi-Stream IntelliFrame on the device and Video Fence, which sets a virtual boundary so remote participants see and hear only what is inside it. Audio comes from an eight-microphone MEMS array, two 10 W stereo speakers and AI-enhanced noise cancellation, with a voice pickup range of 6 meters. Two expansion microphones can be added to cover a larger table.

Processing, touch control and content sharing

The MCore 4 runs an Intel Ultra 5 125H processor with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 256 GB SSD, and it comes preloaded with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise, the Microsoft Teams Rooms app and Yealink RoomConnect. Its three HDMI outputs (one 2.1 and two 2.0) support CEC and EDID, and an HDMI-in port accepts 4K auxiliary content. The MTouch Plus is an 11.6-inch IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 that can sit on a desk, be fixed to a desk or be wall-mounted. Wireless sharing uses the WPP30 adapter, while wired sharing works over HDMI or USB-C.

A single CAT5e or higher cable carries both data and power to the MTouch Plus, and the cable between the mini-PC and the touch panel can run up to 40 m but cannot be extended. What display do I need to connect?

Any display used with the MVC S40 must have a resolution of 1080p or higher and an HDMI port. The display is not included in the bundle. The MCore 4 provides three HDMI video outputs, one HDMI 2.1 and two HDMI 2.0, with CEC and EDID support. Choose the screen size for your room and seating distance before ordering, because it affects the camera position and the overall layout.

How is the touch panel connected to the mini-PC?

A single CAT5e or higher Ethernet cable connects the MCore 4 to the MTouch Plus and carries both data and power, so the panel does not need a separate power cable. The maximum cable distance between the mini-PC and the touch panel is 40 m (131 ft) and it cannot be extended. Plan the cable route during a site survey, especially in rooms where the computer sits far from the table.

Can participants share content both wirelessly and by cable?

Yes. The WPP30 adapter enables wireless content sharing at 1080p and 30 fps, and wired sharing is available through the HDMI or USB-C video input on the touch panel. The MCore 4 also has an HDMI-in port that accepts 4K auxiliary content. Where can the MTouch Plus be installed?

The data available gives an operating range of 0 to 40 degrees C and 10 to 95 percent humidity for the RoomSensor only. Operating ranges for the MCore 4, MTouch Plus and SmartVision 40 are not in the data, so do not assume they match. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45 degrees C, so meeting rooms should be air-conditioned. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the conditions for your room, especially near windows or in an Industrial Area office.

How is the system set up and managed remotely?

On first start, connect a mouse to complete the initial configuration; a wireless mouse and keyboard kit is recommended. The mini-PC loads Windows automatically when powered on. The devices support the Yealink Device Management Platform and cloud service, which allow remote management, monitoring, configuration, updates and diagnostics of connected devices. Yealink RoomConnect is preloaded on the mini-PC.

Do you survey the room before installation?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys, which are useful before wall-mounting the SmartVision 40 or running the CAT5e cable to the touch panel. The survey checks the camera position relative to the seats, the display placement and the cable route, which matter most in boardrooms and classrooms with fixed layouts.
