What the RoomPanel E2 does at a meeting room door

The RoomPanel E2 is an 8-inch scheduling panel mounted beside a meeting room. It shows who has booked the room, when it is free and whether it is currently in use. Staff can review the day's bookings, reserve a free room or check in directly on the touch screen. The panel runs Android 13 and supports Microsoft Teams and Zoom, along with RingCentral, Gingco, Gobright, Flowscape, Space Connect and Appspace, so it can sit on top of the booking system your organisation already uses.

Display, touch and status lighting that matter

The 8-inch LCD uses a 16:10 aspect ratio at 1280x800 resolution. Its multi-point capacitive touch screen has an anti-fingerprint coating that keeps marks off the glass between cleanings. Typical brightness is 320 nits, contrast is 1000:1 and the viewing angle is plus or minus 80 degrees both horizontally and vertically. An ambient light sensor adjusts brightness to the room, and a proximity sensor wakes the screen when someone approaches. Full RGB LED bars on both sides of the unit show room status in colour, which makes availability readable from along a corridor. LED colours may differ between booking platforms.

Connectivity, audio and power

• Short-range: Bluetooth 5.0 connects directly to compatible room sensors without an extra gateway.
• Badge access: 13.56 MHz RFID and NFC support ID-based authorisation and attendee tracking.
• Network security: IEEE 802.1x with EAP-MD5, EAP-TLS, EAP-PEAP/MSCHAPv2 and EAP-TTLS/EAP-MSCHAPv2.
• Power: Power over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3af, or a 12 V power adapter.
• Audio and ports: two array microphones, two speakers and one USB-C port.

The listed mounting options are a surface mount for a 2-gang US electrical box, a 20-degree tilt mount kit for wall or glass, a flush mount kit for wall or glass, and a mount kit for glass. The unit is 209 x 146 mm and weighs 0.53 kg, and it can be installed in portrait or landscape orientation. Because the operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius, install it inside air-conditioned spaces. Keep it away from glass that takes direct afternoon sun, since outdoor temperatures in Qatar's summer can exceed 45 degrees Celsius.
