What the SmartVision 80 is

The SmartVision 80 is a PTZ conference camera for rooms where participants sit far apart or stand at different distances from the lens. Instead of one fixed view, it combines four lenses: a panoramic lens, two telephoto lenses and a PTZ lens. The camera chooses the view that suits each moment, so a wide shot of the room and a close-up of one speaker can both stay sharp. The manufacturer describes the system as a 4K quad-lens design.

Lens coverage and zoom

The PTZ lens provides 20x optical zoom with a 69-degree diagonal field of view. The panoramic lens covers 110 degrees diagonally, and each telephoto lens covers 51 degrees. Pan reaches ±96 degrees and tilt runs from -90 to +50 degrees, so the camera can frame a whole table or a single presenter at a whiteboard. The panoramic and telephoto lenses each have an automatic lens cover. The spec table lists a 15 m maximum distance while the marketing text cites 20 m, so check coverage against your room plan before buying.

Tracking that follows the conversation

Audio is handled by a built-in four-microphone array that localises sound, so tracking works without external microphones. AI noise suppression and dereverberation are supported. For larger rooms, the camera works with Yealink audio devices such as the VCM35/36, CM20 and MSpeaker Pro.

Ports and integration

The rear panel offers one USB 3.0 Type-B port, one USB 2.0 Type-A port, one HDMI out, a network RJ45 port, two VCH RJ45 ports, line in, line out and a DC power port, plus a reset button. NDI is supported. Dante is not yet available, because the manufacturer lists Dante support for a future version, so do not design a Dante audio network around this camera today. Planning the installation

Dimensions are 230 × 135 × 171.5 mm. Net weight is 1.716 kg and gross weight is 3.874 kg, so the bracket must be fixed into solid structure. The mount kit and adjustable bracket allow placement on a wall, on a TV or on a table. Before installing, book a free site survey to check mounting height, the sightline to the furthest seat and cable routes.
