Overview

The Barco UniSee 800 is a 55-inch LCD panel from Barco's UniSee series, built to be tiled into a single video wall. Its narrow edges keep content continuous across joined panels, which suits operations rooms, bank halls and lobbies in Doha, Lusail and West Bay. What the Barco UniSee 800 is

The Barco UniSee 800 is a 55-inch LCD panel from Barco's UniSee series, designed to be joined with other panels to form one video wall. Its bezel-less edges keep the gap between neighbouring panels to a minimum, so content appears as one continuous surface rather than a grid of separate screens. It is positioned for high brightness applications, which makes it a practical choice for rooms where the display has to stay clear under strong ambient light.

Why the narrow edges and brightness focus matter

On a video wall, the frame between panels can break up charts, maps and live camera feeds. A bezel-less design reduces that interruption, which is why operations rooms and command centres often specify a tiled wall instead of one large screen. The high brightness positioning matters in the same way: a wall in a sunlit lobby or a room with large windows needs to remain readable during the day. Ask our team to confirm the full specification for this model before you finalise the room design.

Where it fits in Qatar

Three situations suit this panel well:

A government operations room in Doha where staff monitor several feeds on one wall during long shifts.
A bank customer hall or trading floor in West Bay where the wall shows market data or queue information under bright office lighting.
A hotel lobby or retail atrium in Lusail or The Pearl where a tiled display can show wayfinding, event schedules or brand content.

What to plan before you order

A tiled wall is a structural and electrical project, not only a delivery. Decide the grid of panels across and down, calculate the total weight and confirm that the mounting surface can carry it. Plan cable routing for video sources and any wall controller. The source data does not list an operating temperature range or an outdoor rating for this model, so confirm the installation environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team, especially for spaces near windows or entrances where Qatar's summer heat above 45°C and dust storms are a concern.

SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys before wall-mounting work, so the grid, wall load and cabling can be checked on site. For multi-panel orders we issue quotations for government tenders and purchase orders (LPOs), supply the panels, and arrange professional installation. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order.

Questions about Barco UniSee 800

What is the Barco UniSee 800 used for?

The Barco UniSee 800 is a 55-inch LCD panel from Barco's UniSee series, intended to be tiled with other panels to form one video wall. It suits rooms where several sources or dashboards need to be shown together, such as operations centres, trading floors and lobbies. Because it is positioned for high brightness applications, it is worth considering for spaces with daylight or strong artificial light. Ask our team to confirm the full specification before finalising your design.

Who is this 55-inch model best suited to in Qatar?

It suits organisations planning a multi-panel display wall rather than a single screen, such as government operations rooms in Doha, banks with customer or trading halls, and hospitals with central monitoring areas. The 55-inch size works well for a wall viewed from a moderate distance. Measure the viewing distance in your room before choosing this size, and compare it with the wall space you have available.

What does bezel-less mean on a video wall?

Bezel-less means the physical frame around the active screen area is very narrow, so the gap between adjacent panels is minimal. On a tiled wall this stops charts, maps and camera feeds from being split by visible lines, which matters in control rooms where operators read fine detail across several tiles. The UniSee 800 is designed for this tiled approach. The exact bezel dimension is not listed in the source data, so confirm it with SmartRooms Qatar when planning the grid.

Can the UniSee 800 be used in a bright room with windows?

The UniSee 800 is positioned for high brightness applications, which is the right category for rooms with daylight, such as a lobby in West Bay or a sales hall with glazed frontage. Brightness is the main reason to consider it over a standard indoor display. The source data does not list a luminance figure, so ask for the confirmed value and consider window glare and screen position when you plan the room layout.

Is the Barco UniSee 800 suitable for outdoor or very hot areas in Qatar?

The source data does not give an operating temperature range or an outdoor rating for this model, so SmartRooms Qatar cannot state one. Summers in Qatar regularly exceed 45°C and dust storms are common, so for any location near windows, entrances or semi-outdoor areas, confirm the environment with our team before ordering. Do not assume outdoor use from the model name alone.

How many panels would a control room video wall in Doha need?

The number depends on the wall dimensions and the grid you choose, which is a planning decision rather than a product fact. For example, a 3 by 3 grid would use nine 55-inch panels. Measure the wall, decide the aspect ratio and the viewing distance, then request a quotation that lists the panel count for that layout. SmartRooms Qatar can help you work through the grid during a free site survey.

Would a bank customer hall in West Bay be a good use for this wall?

A bank customer hall or trading floor in West Bay often needs a wall that shows market data, queue information or branding during business hours, under strong office lighting. The UniSee 800 is positioned for high brightness applications, so it fits that brief. Plan the wall position to avoid direct glare from glazing, and request a quotation that covers panel count, mounting and installation for the bank's approval process.

Could a hotel lobby in Lusail use this tiled wall?

Yes, a hotel lobby in Lusail or The Pearl can use a tiled wall for wayfinding, event schedules or brand content. The narrow edges keep one image continuous across panels, and the high brightness positioning helps where the lobby receives daylight through entrances. Because lobbies carry heavy foot traffic, arrange a free site survey before ordering so the wall structure, cabling and environment are checked on site.

Which video inputs and connections does the UniSee 800 have?

The source data for the UniSee 800 does not list its input ports, control interfaces or supported signal formats, so this page does not state them. Before committing to a wall design, ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm the inputs, how the panels are driven, and which controller is needed for your sources. This avoids surprises when media players, computers or conferencing systems connect to the wall.

What should I plan for before the wall is installed?

Plan the wall grid, check that the mounting surface can carry the total weight of the panels, and confirm power and cable routing for the room. Qatar mains power is 240 V, 50 Hz, but the source data does not state this model's power requirements, so verify them before installation. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys that check the wall, cabling and environment, and can supply and install the panels.

Can I buy the Barco UniSee 800 through a government tender or LPO?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar supplies on purchase orders (LPOs) and can respond to government tenders, including Monaqasat. For a video wall project, the quotation should list the panels, mounting, installation and any site survey as separate lines so the procurement team can compare them. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Include your tender reference or LPO details when you request a quote.

What warranty applies to the UniSee 800?

The UniSee 800 is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. The source data does not give the warranty duration or terms, so SmartRooms Qatar will confirm the warranty details with your quotation rather than state them here. Ask for the coverage to be listed alongside the panel count, mounting and installation so the project is documented clearly from the start.
