The Barco RGB Laser ODLF-721 is a 70-inch rear-projection cube from the OverView RGB Laser series, for 24/7 control rooms. Its RGB laser light source is rated for over 125,000 hours in Normal and Eco modes, and front access removes the need for rear maintenance space. With Full HD resolution, 1800:1 contrast and a 2-year warranty, it suits operations centres in Doha, Ras Laffan and Mesaieed where space is tight.
What the Barco RGB Laser ODLF-721 is
The Barco RGB Laser ODLF-721 is a rear-projection video wall cube from the OverView RGB Laser series. Each unit presents a 70-inch diagonal image and measures 1,550 mm wide, 872 mm high and 642 mm deep. The projection module weighs under 63 kg and the support frame under 39 kg. It is built for control rooms and operations centres that run around the clock.
Brightness, colour and contrast for operators
Laser light is the main reason to choose this model. The manufacturer quotes twice the brightness of mainstream LED-lit rear-projection walls, with the highest Boost setting rated at 940 cd/m². Normal, Eco and Eco+ modes reduce output and power draw, so the room can be matched to its lighting. A Full HD panel of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 1800:1 on-screen contrast and colour up to 170% of the Rec.709 triangle keep small details readable on dense maps and multi-source layouts. Brightness uniformity is typically above 95% at ANSI 9 and above 90% at ANSI 13, and Sense X automatic calibration supports colour stability.
Front access and 24/7 reliability
Front access means the cube can be serviced without a rear maintenance area, which matters in a room where every square metre goes to consoles, desks and plant. The RGB laser light source is rated for more than 125,000 hours in Normal and Eco modes. Redundant laser banks, redundant power supply drivers and redundant input signal and external power supply paths reduce single points of failure, and the manufacturer rates the platform for more than 11 years of uninterrupted 24/7 operation. Noise is below 20 dB when measured 3 metres in front of the unit.
Where it fits in Qatar
- Traffic and incident management in Doha: a room in West Bay or Msheireb where operators monitor maps, camera feeds and status boards across rotating shifts. The high brightness helps keep the room lit rather than dimmed.
- Energy operations at Ras Laffan or Mesaieed: a control room where floor space is tight and access behind the wall is limited, so front-only service is a practical advantage.
- Campus or hospital command rooms in Education City or Al Sadd: a safety or bed-management room where a wide wall must hold a steady picture through long shifts.
Planning the installation and requesting a quote
The cubes operate between 10°C and 40°C at up to 80% humidity, non-condensing. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, so the room must be air-conditioned and kept within that range. The AC input range of 100–240 VAC at 50–60 Hz covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains supply. Connections include two DP1.2 inputs with one output, two HDMI 2.0 inputs (4K at 60 Hz), two Ethernet ports and two USB ports for power only.
SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey to check floor loading, access routes and ventilation before installation. We supply, deliver to all eight municipalities of Qatar and install professionally, and accept purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders through Monaqasat. The product carries the manufacturer's 2-year warranty. Request a quote and our team will usually reply within one working day with a configuration for your room.

- Notes
- (1) In general, rear projection video walls have no bezels, only a mechanical gap which depends on video wall configuration and operating temperatures
