What the LS550UCM-EF is built for

The Dahua LS550UCM-EF is a 55-inch, 16:9 display unit designed as one tile in a multi-panel video wall. Its 1920×1080 ADS LCD panel uses a direct LED backlight and delivers 500 cd/m² brightness with a 1200:1 contrast ratio. The anti-glare surface, rated at 25% haze with 3H hardness, keeps content readable in rooms with overhead lights, and viewing angles of 178° horizontal and vertical let people across a control room read the same screen.

Bezels, colour and picture splicing

Bezels measure 2.3 mm on the top and left and 1.2 mm on the bottom and right, so adjacent units meet with a 3.5 mm seam. That narrow join is what makes a wall read as one picture rather than a grid of separate screens. Factory calibration is applied for high colour uniformity across units, which matters when several panels show one image. The panel has 8-bit colour depth (16.7 million colours) and a 10,000K colour temperature, and a built-in 3D noise reduction system cleans up the picture. The picture splicing function helps arrange content across the array.

Continuous operation and control

The industrial-level ADS panel is rated for continuous 24/7 operation, with an MTBF of 50,000 hours. A professional thermal design is intended to extend device lifespan. The unit can be controlled in two ways:

• Infrared remote control
• RS232 serial control, including remote control by computer

Inputs include HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, BNC composite, USB and audio. Two HDMI outputs allow HDMI daisy chaining from one unit to the next.

Each unit measures 1213.5 mm wide, 684.3 mm high and 126.0 mm deep, with a net weight of 21.4 kg (31.1 kg gross). Wall mounting uses a 600×400 mm VESA pattern with M6 fixings, and the unit can also stand on the floor. A 3×3 wall of nine units is about 3.6 m wide and 2.1 m high, and at the typical 175 W per unit it draws roughly 1.6 kW. The power supply accepts AC100–240V at 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains.
