A 55-inch narrow-bezel panel built for tiled video walls

The LG 55VL5F-A is a 55-inch LCD display designed to be tiled into a video wall. Its 3.5 mm bezel-to-bezel gap keeps frame lines small when several panels sit side by side, so the wall reads as one picture rather than a grid. The panel uses IPS technology with a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 60 Hz refresh rate.

Picture and panel facts that matter on a wall

On a wall, uniform brightness and colour across every screen matter more than peak figures on a single panel. The key specifications are:

• Brightness: 500 nit typical, with a 1,200:1 contrast ratio and 500,000:1 dynamic contrast.
• Viewing angle: 178 degrees horizontally and 178 degrees vertically, so people standing well to the side still see accurate colour.
• Colour: NTSC 72% colour gamut and 1.07 billion displayable colours.
• Surface and response: 3% haze surface treatment and 8 ms G-to-G response time.
• Calibration: colour temperature adjustable in 100K steps from the remote, and grey-scale white balance that can be set for each value.

The image gap reduction feature adjusts content at bezel boundaries during video playback, which reduces visible breaks when a moving image runs across adjacent screens.

Environment comes first. The panel operates between 0 °C and 40 °C and between 10% and 80% humidity, so it belongs in an air-conditioned indoor room. Summer temperatures in Qatar often exceed 45 °C, so keep the wall away from sunlit windows and outdoor positions. Typical power draw is 130 W and maximum is 150 W, with heat output of 444 BTU/hr typical and 512 BTU/hr maximum. Include these figures in your cooling load when several panels run together.

Mechanical planning matters just as much. Each head weighs 20.3 kg and the packed unit weighs 33 kg, so plan for at least two people to lift it. The VESA interface is 600 x 400 mm, and the panel supports both portrait and landscape orientation. The manufacturer lists optional wall mounts WM-L640V for landscape and WM-P640V for portrait.
