What the VH55R-R is built for

The VH55R-R is a 55-inch Direct LED panel from Samsung's VHR-R Series, designed to be tiled with identical panels into one large image. Each unit measures 1211.0 mm wide, 681.7 mm high and 69.9 mm deep, and weighs 16.8 kg without packaging. Its 1,920 x 1,080 resolution makes it a Full HD panel, well suited to dashboards, status boards, floor plans and presentations viewed at close range.

Bezels, brightness and picture quality

The bezel is 0.44 mm on every side, so two adjacent panels leave a 0.88 mm gap. That narrow gap keeps a wall reading as one surface, which matters when a single spreadsheet or floor plan crosses several screens. The panel is rated at a maximum of 700 cd/m², with a 1,100:1 contrast ratio and a dynamic contrast figure of 30,000:1. Viewing angles are listed at 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, so people seated at the side of a meeting room can still read the content.

Two picture modes help with everyday content. Picture Enhancer adjusts the gamma curve to improve colour saturation and contrast, while Black Equalizer lightens dark scenes so detail stays visible. Samsung's multi-step factory calibration keeps brightness and colour uniform across units, and the Color Expert Pro software, which is free, lets facilities teams manage uniformity after installation. The Color Expert Pro Mobile app, which calibrates a wall using a phone camera, works only on certain smartphone models.

Connecting and building the wall

Each panel has two HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input and one DVI input, plus a USB port, an audio input and a stereo mini jack audio output. Control options include RS232 in and out, an RJ45 input and an IR input. MagicInfo daisy chain video wall support is included, and the panels can carry UHD content across layouts up to 5 x 5 over DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI, without an external graphics card or UHD splitters. The panel has no tuner, no HDBaseT input and no RJ45 output, so map your signal path before ordering. Samsung's UHD Signage Player Box is sold separately and should be quoted as an additional item if you need it.

What to plan before you order

Each panel uses a VESA mount pattern of 600 x 400 mm. Mounting is an optional accessory, and no stand is offered for this model, so plan for a wall or frame installation. The operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius at 10 to 90% humidity. Qatar summers regularly exceed 45 degrees, so the wall should sit in air-conditioned indoor space with ventilation kept clear around the panels. Each unit draws 270 W in on mode and 0.5 W in sleep mode, and the energy efficiency grade is G. The panel carries EMC Class B and safety standard 60950-1 certification.
