What the VH55T-E is and how it is built

The VH55T-E is a 55-inch Direct LED display designed to be joined with identical modules into one large video wall. Each module offers 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and a 0.63 x 0.63 mm pixel pitch. The cabinet measures 1211.5 mm wide, 682.3 mm high and 70 mm deep, and each unit weighs 19.4 kg. The frame is glossy, and the bezel is 0.9 mm on the top and left and 0.9 mm on the right and bottom, which gives the 1.8 mm gap between one module and the next.

Brightness and contrast in rooms with the lights on

The panel has a typical maximum brightness of 700 cd/m², a static contrast ratio of 1,200:1 and a dynamic contrast figure of 500,000:1. Its viewing angle is 178 degrees horizontal and 178 degrees vertical, so people seated to the side of a control room or at the far end of a lobby still see the same detail. The non-glare panel spreads light evenly across the screen, which matters in atriums and glass-fronted meeting rooms where daylight falls across the display. Picture Enhancer and Black Equalizer modes help bring out detail in dark content.

Connecting sources and building the wall

Each module provides two HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input, one DVI input, a USB port, an RJ45 input, an RS232 input and an IR input, along with audio input, stereo audio output and video output. Modules can be daisy-chained through DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI, so a single source can present UHD content across several screens without an external graphics card. MagicInfo daisy chain video wall support is listed for this model, and Samsung's UHD Signage Player Box combines the media player and content management software.

Where it fits in Qatar

Three situations suit this module well:

• A university or training centre in Education City building a 2 x 2 or 3 x 2 wall in a lecture hall or control room to show timetables, research dashboards or live feeds.
• A shopping mall or hotel lobby in West Bay or The Pearl running promotional or wayfinding content through long opening hours.

What to plan before you order

The rated operating range is 0°C to 40°C with humidity from 10% to 90%, while summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C outdoors. Keep the modules inside cooled space, and ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to check room conditions and airflow around the cabinets before the layout is fixed. The module is IP5x certified for dust resistance, but operation is not guaranteed with certain dusts such as metal dust.

No stand is supplied, and a mount is available as an optional feature. The VESA pattern is 600 x 400 mm, and with each unit weighing 19.4 kg, the wall must carry the combined load of the cabinets and mounts and remain level across its full width.
