What the VM55T-E is and where it fits

The Samsung VM55T-E is a 55-inch Direct LED display built to be tiled into a video wall. Each cabinet measures 1,211.5 mm wide, 682.3 mm high and 70 mm deep. Its bezels are 0.9 mm on every edge, so two neighbouring panels sit just 1.8 mm apart, which lets a grid of screens read as one continuous picture.

Because the panel is built for around-the-clock use, it suits rooms that must show information all day. Examples in Qatar include a control room at an industrial site in Mesaieed, the arrival hall of a hotel in West Bay, or the reception of a government building in Msheireb where visitors need directions and announcements at any hour.

Picture facts that matter on a video wall

Each cabinet has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a 0.63 mm pixel pitch, the centre-to-centre spacing between pixels. A finer pitch lets viewers stand closer before individual pixels become visible. Typical brightness is 500 cd/m², contrast ratio is 1,200:1 with dynamic contrast rated at 500,000:1, and glass haze is 0.28%. Viewing angle is 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, response time is 8 ms and colour gamut is 72%.

Connections and daisy-chain planning

The panel provides two HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input, one DVI input and one USB port. Control and audio are covered by IR, RS232 and RJ45 inputs, an audio input and a stereo mini-jack audio output. Daisy chaining through DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI lets one source show UHD content across several panels without an external graphics card, and the data lists MagicInfo daisy chain video wall support. There is no HDBaseT input and no external memory slot, so a PC or media player normally supplies the content.

Power, temperature and the Qatar climate

The power input is rated AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Typical on-mode consumption is 220 W and sleep-mode consumption is 0.5 W. The operating range is 0 to 40 °C at 10 to 90% humidity. Summer temperatures in Doha regularly pass 45 °C, so the wall should sit in an air-conditioned room or a lobby with climate control. Planning the installation

Each cabinet weighs 19.4 kg, or 27.6 kg in its package. The VESA pattern is 600 x 400 mm. The data lists a mount as an optional feature and does not offer a stand, so most projects will use a wall or frame mounting system.
