What the Elo I-Series E143205 is built for

The Elo I-Series 10-inch is a Linux touchscreen computer that combines the display and the processor in one black enclosure. Instead of a separate PC behind a counter or on a wall, you mount one unit that runs a single dedicated application. It is aimed at self-service kiosks, point-of-sale terminals, price checkers, visitor management and industrial control screens. Elo builds the platform on Debian 10 Linux, with Linux device drivers and uniform SDKs for developers.

Specifications that shape the buying decision

The 10.1-inch active matrix LCD runs at 1280 x 800 in a 16:10 format, giving enough room for menus, order lists and sign-in forms. The LCD is rated at 300 nits and the touch layer at 250 nits, with an 800:1 contrast ratio, so check the viewing position before choosing a site. The projected capacitive touch layer registers up to 10 touches. Through a protective cover, it supports up to two touches through glass up to 6 mm thick or plastic up to 3 mm thick.

Inside the enclosure sits a Rockchip RK3399 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Connectivity includes Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB 3.0 port, a USB-C output, a micro SD slot and GPIO pins. A 5MP autofocus webcam capturing 1920 x 1080 at 30fps, a built-in analog microphone and two 2W speakers support video calls and voice prompts.

Ports, expansion and power

Four Elo Edge Connect micro-USB 2.0 ports let you attach payment devices, cameras, barcode readers and other peripherals. One port supplies up to 1.2A and the other three up to 500mA, so check each device's current draw before you connect it. Typical power draw is 7.2W when on, 3.4W in sleep and 0.4W when off. The included adapter accepts 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz. Where a power drop is costly, Power over Ethernet is supported with a separate Elo PoE device (part E413396) on a PoE-capable network.

The rated operating temperature is 0°C to 40°C, with operating humidity from 20% to 80%. Summer temperatures in Qatar regularly pass 45°C, so the unit belongs in an air-conditioned room, away from direct sun and hot glass.
