What the Elo 6553L is and how it is built
The Elo 6553L is a 65-inch interactive display from the IDS 53-Series, with a 3840 x 2160 native 4K panel, a 16:9 aspect ratio and an active area of 1428.48 mm by 803.52 mm. It is built for continuous commercial operation and is rated for up to 24 hours a day. Its 10-bit panel shows about 1.07 billion colours, an ambient light sensor adjusts panel colour to match the room, and auto wake brings the screen on when needed.
Choosing between PCAP and infrared touch
The range is available in three part numbers, and the right one depends on how people will touch the screen:
- E215435, TouchPro PCAP with anti-glare glass: 40 touch points and 430 nits typical brightness at the touch layer.
- E914767, TouchPro PCAP with clear anti-friction glass: 40 touch points and the same touch-layer brightness, with a clear glass surface.
- E215638, infrared with anti-glare glass: 20 touch points and 450 nits typical brightness.
All three share a 500-nit LCD panel, a 1100:1 contrast ratio, an 8 ms total response time and a 178-degree viewing angle both horizontally and vertically. Two 10 W stereo speakers are built in.
Connectivity, computing and collaboration
The rear has two HDMI inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, a USB 3.0 Type B port, an RJ45 port for the OSD remote and a 3.5mm RS232 serial jack. The side adds a third HDMI input, a USB 3.0 Type A port and the front controls. The optional ECMG4 computer module, based on Intel Core 7th-generation processors, turns the display into an all-in-one touch PC with no external cables required, while the Elo Backpack 4 offers an Android option with remote content management through the EloView portal. Up to four Edge Connect accessories can be added, and the optional 4K Conference Camera is compatible with major video conferencing applications.
