What the 65B4E31T is and why it matters now

The Hisense 65B4E31T is a 65-inch indoor digital signage display from Hisense's B4E31T series. It uses a 4K UHD IPS panel with a DLED backlight and is rated for 18 hours of operation a day, seven days a week. Hisense has discontinued this model. This page is written for organisations that already run one, buyers comparing it with newer displays, and anyone who needs a replacement that matches its size, resolution and running schedule.

Specifications that affect everyday performance

Resolution: 3840 x 2160 pixels on a 65-inch panel, with a 60Hz refresh rate.
Brightness and contrast: 500 nits typical brightness and 1200:1 typical contrast, suited to brightly lit reception areas and corridors.
Viewing angle: 178 degrees, so staff and visitors walking past from either side can read the screen.
Playback: a dual-core SoC running Android 8.0, with internal memory for PC-less playback of stored media.
Connectivity: Wi-Fi on 2.4G and 5G, 10/100Mbps LAN, an RS232 port on an RJ45 connector and an IR remote.
Audio: two built-in 8W speakers.

Where it fits in Qatar

In a corporate lobby in West Bay or Lusail, the 178-degree viewing angle lets visitors read welcome content or wayfinding information from the reception desk and the lift lobby. In a clinic in Al Sadd, portrait orientation can display queue numbers and patient information along a narrow waiting corridor. In a private school in Al Wakrah, a 65-inch panel in a corridor or staff room suits daily timetables and announcements, and the internal memory lets staff keep updating content without a dedicated PC.

Planning the installation

Plan the wall before the display arrives. The set measures 1462.3 mm wide, 837.3 mm high and 93.4 mm deep, with 14.9 mm bezels on all four sides. It weighs 27.6 kg without packaging and 31.4 kg packed, and it uses a 400 x 400 mm VESA mounting pattern. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar lets our team check the wall structure, bracket type, cable routes and power point before installation.

The operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius with 20 to 80% humidity. Summer temperatures in Doha can rise above 45 degrees Celsius, so the display should sit in an air-conditioned interior, away from direct sunlight and glass, and the room cooling should be confirmed during the survey.

Power input: 100 V to 240 V at 50 to 60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V supply.
Power consumption: 200 W, with standby consumption below 0.5 W.
Box contents: user manual, remote with battery, power cord, RS232 cable and HDMI cable.

Questions about 65B4E31T

Is the Hisense 65B4E31T still sold by the manufacturer?

No. Hisense has discontinued the 65B4E31T and lists it as end of life. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement that matches your screen size, 4K resolution and mounting, so an existing installation can be extended or replaced without redesigning the wall. Send us the room details and we will confirm availability in the quotation.

Which sites in Qatar suit a 65-inch 4K signage display like this?

A 65-inch 4K panel suits reception areas, corridors, corporate lobbies and shop interiors where viewers stand within a few metres of the screen. In Doha, typical sites include an office lobby in West Bay, a hotel corridor in Msheireb or a clinic waiting area in Al Sadd. Large halls and lecture theatres usually need a bigger panel or several screens.

Can it play content without a PC?

Yes. The 65B4E31T has internal memory that can store and play media as a PC-less solution, allowing instant broadcast of stored content. It runs a dual-core SoC with Android 8.0 and supports both offline and cloud-based content, so you can choose the content management system you prefer. Hisense's own CMS adds playlist editing and status monitoring.

Does it work on Qatar's 240 V power supply?

The power input is rated 100 V to 240 V at 50 to 60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains supply. Rated power consumption is 200 W, and standby consumption is below 0.5 W. The package includes a power cord, but confirm its plug type against the BS 1363 (Type G) sockets in your room before ordering. Our team will check this during the quotation.

Can it be placed near a window or outdoors in Doha's summer heat?

No, not in those conditions. The operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius with 20 to 80% humidity, while Doha summer temperatures can rise above 45 degrees Celsius. Install it in an air-conditioned interior, away from direct sun, glass and entrances exposed to dust. Confirm the room's cooling capacity with the SmartRooms Qatar team during the site survey before fixing the bracket.

What wall mounting does the 65B4E31T need?

It uses a 400 x 400 mm VESA pattern and weighs 27.6 kg without packaging and 31.4 kg packed. The set measures 1462.3 mm by 837.3 mm by 93.4 mm, so the wall must carry that load at the chosen height. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar checks the wall structure so the right mount can be specified in the quotation.

How can staff control it remotely or from a central system?

The display has an RS232 port on an RJ45 connector, with a serial cable included in the box, plus an IR remote. Hisense's CMS platform adds status monitoring and real-time control, so a facilities team can respond quickly from one location. The LAN port runs at 10/100Mbps and Wi-Fi covers 2.4G and 5G, so check the network route before installation.

Is it suitable for a private school in Al Wakrah?

Yes, for corridors, staff rooms and entrance halls where daily timetables, events and announcements need to be visible. The 4K panel keeps text sharp at close range, landscape or portrait mounting suits notices and calendars, and internal memory lets staff update content without a dedicated PC. For schools needing several units, list all quantities in one quotation.

How does the 178-degree viewing angle help in a busy lobby?

In a hotel lobby in Lusail, guests and staff approach the screen from the lifts, the reception desk and the café, so the 178-degree viewing angle keeps the picture readable from those positions. The two built-in 8W speakers suit short announcements in small areas, but a separate sound system is better for larger spaces.

Can it show portrait content such as queue numbers or menus?

Yes. Both landscape and portrait orientations are supported, so the display can show vertical queue numbers at a clinic counter in Al Sadd or a menu on a narrow wall in The Pearl. If you plan to use portrait mode, mention it when you request the quote so the mount and wall height are planned for it. The 14.9 mm bezels keep the frame neat in either orientation.

Can a school or government body buy this through an LPO or tender?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts local purchase orders and government tenders, including Monaqasat, and accepts payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Supply covers all eight municipalities of Qatar, installation is professional, and quotations are usually issued within one working day. Send the quantity, room list and required operating hours to start the process.
