Overview

The iiyama S2425AS-B1P is a 23.8-inch Full HD signage display with an IPS panel, 500 cd/m² brightness and Android 14 with the iiSignage² content management system preinstalled. Built for display-only use, it suits supermarket aisles, retail promotion zones and information points across Doha, Lusail and Al Rayyan. One RJ45 cable can carry both data and power over PoE, keeping installations tidy.

What the S2425AS-B1P is built to do

The S2425AS-B1P is a 23.8-inch (60.5 cm) signage screen for playing scheduled content on a fixed display. It pairs a Full HD IPS panel with an integrated Android 14 computer, so the screen, the player and the content platform sit in one unit rather than in a separate media box. The specifications list no touch input, so this model is intended for viewing content, not for customers to tap or select options on screen.

Screen facts that matter on a shop floor

The panel is rated at 500 cd/m² with a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, and its surface is a hard-coated anti-glare finish (3H hardness, 25% haze). That combination matters where daylight reaches the screen or overhead lighting washes out dimmer displays. The 1920 x 1080 resolution and 0.275 mm pixel pitch suit text and promotional imagery viewed at close range, such as shelf-edge messages or a queue information point. Viewing angles of 178 degrees horizontally and vertically mean staff and shoppers standing to the side still see the same picture. The panel reproduces 16.7 million colours, lists a 14 ms response time and is flicker free.

Installation, power and cabling

RJ45 LAN port with Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3at, 72W) for data and power on one cable
HDMI input at 1920 x 1080, 60Hz, plus a USB-C port for video output only
External DC 12 V adapter with a 1.8 m power cable included in the box
VESA 100 x 100 mm mounting, with landscape, portrait and face-up orientation

The unit measures 549.5 x 336.0 x 28.0 mm and weighs 4.24 kg without its box. Its slim profile allows placement in narrow aisles or flush wall mounts. Before fixing it to a wall, confirm the wall construction and load rating, and check that a compatible PoE switch port is available at the mounting point if you plan to use single-cable operation.

Where it fits in Qatar

In a supermarket in Al Rayyan, a unit at the end of an aisle can loop promotional content that is updated from the iiSignage² platform without staff visiting the shop floor. In a retail unit in West Bay or Lusail, one display above a checkout area can carry product messages in a space too small for a larger screen. At a hotel or serviced apartment reception in Msheireb, it can serve as a welcome and wayfinding point.

Temperature is the main planning point. The operating range is 0°C to 40°C, and summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C. Install the display in air-conditioned indoor spaces, away from direct sunlight, and keep the housing ventilated. Do not place it in unconditioned entrances, outdoor canopies or positions exposed to afternoon sun through glass without first confirming the environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team.

Software and long-term support

Android 14 runs the unit with iiSignage² preinstalled, supported by 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. iiyama guarantees compatibility with the platform for at least five years, which helps organisations planning multi-year signage rollouts. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi (802.11ax/ac/a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 5.3 and two USB ports. The display is rated for 24/7 operation with an MTBF of 50,000 hours, excluding backlight.

Questions about S2425AS-B1P

What is the iiyama S2425AS-B1P designed for?

It is a display-only signage screen for playing scheduled content such as promotions, wayfinding and store messages in shops, supermarkets and information points. The data lists no touch input, so it suits places where people view content without interacting with the screen. Its 23.8-inch Full HD panel with 500 cd/m² brightness works well under the overhead lighting common in Qatari retail and lobbies.

Does the S2425AS-B1P support touch or interactive use?

No. The specifications list no touch input, and the product is built for displaying content only. If your project requires visitors to tap, select or annotate on the screen, this model is not the right choice, and you should request a quote for an interactive display instead. SmartRooms Qatar can advise which model fits a reception desk, classroom or meeting room use case.

How does Power over Ethernet work with this display?

The RJ45 LAN port supports Power over Ethernet under IEEE 802.3at with up to 72W, so data and power travel on one cable from a compatible PoE switch. The specifications also list a 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN connection. Because the box includes an external DC 12 V adapter, confirm with the SmartRooms Qatar team which power method suits each mounting position before ordering.

Can the S2425AS-B1P run continuously, 24 hours a day?

Yes. The manufacturer lists 24/7 maximum non-stop operating time and an MTBF of 50,000 hours, excluding backlight. This suits supermarkets, hotel lobbies and malls with long opening hours in Doha. Continuous operation still depends on keeping the ambient temperature within the 0°C to 40°C operating range and leaving the housing ventilated.

Is it suitable for outdoor or window-facing positions in Qatar's summer?

Not based on its data. The operating range is 0°C to 40°C, while Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, so the unit should be used in air-conditioned indoor spaces away from direct sunlight. For a unit facing a window, placed near a glass entrance or under a canopy, confirm the exact environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team before requesting a quote.

What software runs on the screen and how is content managed?

The screen runs Android 14 with the iiSignage² content management system preinstalled. Content can be scheduled and controlled remotely from the platform, and the Android system allows applications to be installed directly on the unit. The hardware includes an octa-core RK3576 processor, 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, which is the baseline for running the signage player in a managed network.

Will the iiSignage² platform stay supported over time?

iiyama guarantees compatibility with the platform for a minimum of five years, according to the manufacturer data. For a school group or retail chain planning a multi-year signage network, this gives a defined period for budgeting and planning refresh cycles. The unit is covered by the manufacturer warranty, and SmartRooms Qatar can confirm the applicable terms with your quotation.

Can it be wall-mounted or fitted to a stand in a Doha shop?

Yes. The unit supports VESA 100 x 100 mm mounting and can be used in landscape, portrait or face-up orientation. It measures 549.5 x 336.0 x 28.0 mm and weighs 4.24 kg without its box. Before fixing it to a wall or column, confirm the wall construction and load rating, and request a free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar for accurate positioning.

Is it a good fit for a supermarket aisle in Al Rayyan or a mall unit in Lusail?

Its 28.0 mm depth and slim housing make it practical for aisle ends, shelf-edge positions and mall units where space is limited. The main requirement is an indoor, air-conditioned location. Check aisle temperatures near refrigerated cabinets and frequently opened doors, and use a site survey to confirm mounting heights and sightlines before the installation date is planned with your contractor.

How much power does the display use, and what does the adapter require?

Typical consumption is 17.5W, standby 14W and off mode 3.5W, according to the manufacturer. These figures help when estimating running costs for several units in a bank branch or clinic. The power supply is an external DC 12 V adapter, and the data does not state its mains input range, so confirm the adapter specification with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.

Which connections does it offer for a laptop or media player?

A single HDMI input accepts 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz, which covers a laptop or media player. The USB-C port is video output only, so it cannot receive a signal. Two USB ports (USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 1) and a microphone input are also provided, along with Wi-Fi 802.11ax/ac and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity.

What should a school or government buyer know when ordering several units?

SmartRooms Qatar supplies and delivers to all eight municipalities of Qatar and usually issues quotations within one working day. We accept purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat, with payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. When requesting a quote, list each unit's location and environment so the quotation reflects the correct mounting and power plan.
