Overview
The LG 30EW5TP-A is a 30-inch transparent OLED touch display that lets people see through the screen while content overlays the view behind it. It offers 37% transparency, 200/600 nit brightness, a 10-point P-Cap touch layer and a 3.0mm chemically strengthened front glass. Built for indoor, air-conditioned spaces such as retail windows, hotel lobbies and bank branches in Doha. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar.
How a transparent OLED screen changes a room
The LG 30EW5TP-A is a 30-inch transparent OLED touch signage display. Its OLED pixels emit their own light, so the panel needs no backlight unit and no liquid crystal layer. At 37% transparency when set up, people on the far side of the glass can still see shelves, products or a view, while the content appears to sit in front of them. The 16:9 panel has a 1366x768 native resolution and can be used in both portrait and landscape orientation.
Specifications that matter for a purchase decision
- Brightness: 200 nit at 100% APL and 600 nit at 25% APL, measured without glass.
- Colour and contrast: 10-bit colour, 1.07 billion colours, BT.709 110% gamut and a 200,000:1 contrast ratio.
- Motion: 120Hz refresh rate and 0.1ms G-to-G response time.
- Touch: P-Cap touch with up to 10 points, 2mm typical accuracy, objects from Ø8 mm and Windows 10/11 support.
- Front glass: 3.0mm chemically strengthened, anti-reflective and anti-fingerprint, shatter-proof, 85% typical transmission.
- Life and hours: 30,000 hours typical, rated for 18 hours a day, 7 days a week with moving content only.
Inputs include HDMI, DisplayPort, USB 2.0 and a touch USB connection, with LAN, RS232C and IR control. The panel runs webOS 23 and works with SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Cloud, Connected Care and Mobile CMS. Power is built in, accepting AC 100-240V at 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240V supply. Typical draw is 45W and maximum draw 86W. The product is not OPS-compatible and has no built-in speaker, although it has an audio out connection.
Where it fits in Qatar
In a boutique in Msheireb or a flagship store in The Pearl, the display can sit inside the glazing line and present product information over the merchandise behind it. Keep it set back from the glass so direct sun does not reach it, because the datasheet does not rate direct sunlight performance. In a bank branch in Al Sadd or a hotel lobby in West Bay, guests can use the touch layer to browse services or wayfinding with their fingertips. Across a retail group with several branches in Doha, SuperSign CMS or Cloud allows content to be scheduled and managed from one place.
What to plan before you order
- The operating range is 0 to 40 °C and 10 to 80% humidity, so plan for air-conditioned indoor spaces.
- The head measures 680.2 x 496.2 x 15.3 mm and weighs 4.2kg; the signage box measures 449.2 x 288.6 x 42.8 mm and weighs 2.4kg.
- The datasheet does not list a VESA mount or stand, so confirm the mounting method during a site survey.
- Test the touch layer and content with your operating system before installation; touch is rated for Windows 10 and 11.

Questions about 30EW5TP-A
What is the LG 30EW5TP-A used for in Qatar?
It suits businesses that want information to sit in front of a view rather than behind a frame. As a 30-inch transparent OLED touch display, it fits retail windows, bank lobbies and hotel receptions in Doha, where a visitor can see the product or room behind the screen while browsing content with a fingertip. It is best suited to short, interactive messages and product highlights rather than long full-resolution video playback.
How transparent is the screen and does it block the view?
The panel is rated at 37% transparency when set up, so objects behind it stay visible while the content overlays them. The touch layer's front glass has an 85% typical transmission rating. Brightness is 200 nit at full-screen APL and 600 nit at 25% APL, measured without glass. In a Msheireb boutique, test the display against the actual background before ordering, because what sits behind the glass changes how clearly the content reads.
Can it be installed in a sun-facing window in Qatar?
Not in direct sun. The operating range is 0 to 40 °C, while summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, and the datasheet does not rate direct sunlight performance. Install it indoors inside an air-conditioned space, set back from the glass, and keep humidity between 10% and 80%. If your window faces the sun, request a quotation and a site survey so the team can confirm the position and shading.
How does the touch function work and what does it support?
The touch is P-Cap, so it responds to fingertips through the glass and supports up to 10 simultaneous touch points. Typical accuracy is 2mm, and it detects objects from Ø8 mm. It connects over a USB 2.0 Type B touch link, and the datasheet lists Windows 10 and Windows 11 as supported operating systems. The 3.0mm front glass is anti-reflective, which reduces glare. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the touch setup for your media player before ordering.
Does it have a built-in speaker or an OPS slot?
No. The data lists no built-in speaker and no OPS compatibility, so a plug-in OPS computer cannot be fitted. It does provide an audio out connection, so sound can be sent to an external amplifier or speakers if the space needs it, such as a hotel lobby announcement system. Plan the audio hardware separately and include it in your quotation request so cabling and power are specified together.
Which inputs and network ports are on the panel?
The panel offers one HDMI input with HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 support, one DisplayPort input with HDCP 1.3, and two USB 2.0 Type A ports. Network and control use RJ45 LAN in and out, RS232C in and out, and an IR input with an external IR receiver. Audio out is also provided. There is no HDMI output, daisy chain or DVI input, so confirm your source device's output type before ordering.
What software manages content across several branches?
The LG 30EW5TP-A runs webOS 23 and is listed as compatible with SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Cloud, Connected Care, Mobile CMS and SuperSign Control+. It supports local content scheduling, group management, fail-over and SNMP monitoring. A retail group with branches in Doha, Lusail and Al Wakrah could manage schedules from one place and monitor each unit remotely. Confirm the software package you need with the SmartRooms Qatar team when requesting a quote.
How much power does it use and will it run on Qatar mains?
The power supply is built in and rated for AC 100-240V at 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240V, 50Hz mains. Typical consumption is 45W, with a maximum of 86W and 0.5W in power-off mode. A power cord is included in the box. Qatar sockets are BS 1363 Type G, so confirm the plug fitment with your electrical contractor when choosing the wall position.
What space and mounting planning is needed before installation?
The panel head measures 680.2 x 496.2 x 15.3 mm and weighs 4.2kg, while the signage box measures 449.2 x 288.6 x 42.8 mm and weighs 2.4kg. The datasheet does not list a VESA mount or stand, so the mounting method must be confirmed on site. Leave room for the signage box and the 3-metre harness cables. A free SmartRooms Qatar site survey covers wall structure, cable routes and clearances before you order.
What comes in the box?
The box includes a remote controller with two batteries, a power cord, a quick start guide, an IR receiver, a regulation book and an RS232C phone-to-gender adaptor. Connections include 3-metre MCX harness cables between the panel and signage box, a 3-metre HDMI cable, a 3-metre micro-to-A USB cable for touch and an A-to-B USB cable for touch output. Screws, nuts, rubber dampers and cable holders are also supplied.
How can a ministry or university in Qatar order several units?
Government and institutional buyers can order with a purchase order (LPO) or through government tenders, including Monaqasat, and pay by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. One quotation can cover several units and locations, such as ministry lobbies or university entrance halls. We deliver to all eight municipalities of Qatar, and the product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. State the number of units and sites when you request a quote.
