Overview

The LG 55SE3KE is a 55-inch FHD standard signage display rated at 350 nits typical brightness, with two HDMI inputs, USB content loading and RS232C control. The manufacturer has discontinued this model. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement for schools, offices, retail areas and reception lobbies across Qatar that need a dependable screen for looping content and playlists.

What the 55SE3KE is built to do

The LG 55SE3KE is a 55-inch display from the SE3K signage series, made for businesses that loop promotional material, announcements and wayfinding content across long opening hours. Its 1,920 x 1,080 full HD panel offers a typical brightness of 350 cd/m². LG has discontinued this model, so this page serves organisations that already run one, buyers comparing it with newer displays, and anyone who needs a replacement that fits the same role.

Managing content without a PC on every screen

A dedicated home menu shows key display information at a glance. A content menu lets you browse stored media, build playlists and set schedules from the remote controller. Content copied to a USB drive from one screen can be carried to others by plugging the drive in, so a playlist set up once can be rolled out across a row of displays quickly.

Power draw, uptime and burn-in control

Typical consumption is 65 W with a maximum of 100 W, and the smart energy saving figure is 45.5 W. The power supply is built in and accepts 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz, a range that includes the 240 V, 50 Hz mains used across Qatar. The unit is rated for 18 hours of operation a day. A scheduled refresh can be set to reduce image sticking on static screens, and the screen can be kept in a network-controllable standby state while the picture is off.

Where it fits in Qatar

A private school in Al Wakrah fitting out corridors with timetable and announcement screens, loading one playlist onto several units by USB.
A hotel or mall entrance in West Bay showing welcome content and directional maps through long daily hours.
A clinic waiting area in Msheireb running health awareness loops and appointment information.

Qatar summer temperatures regularly exceed 45°C outdoors, well above this model's 40°C operating ceiling. Mount the screen inside air-conditioned rooms and away from direct sun through windows, and confirm the room temperature before installation.

Planning the installation

The head measures 1,238 x 714.9 x 54 mm and weighs 17.5 kg. With the optional ST-492T stand it measures 1,238 x 773.4 x 219.6 mm and weighs 20.8 kg, so the stand changes the depth you need to allow. The VESA pattern is 300 x 300 mm, and the wall bracket LSW350B is listed as an option. The bezel is 11.9 mm on the top, left and right and 18 mm at the bottom, which matters when several units are grouped into a video wall. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys before mounting to check wall construction, cable routes and power outlets.

Connectivity, control and durability

Inputs include two HDMI ports, a DVI-D port, RGB, audio and USB. Audio output can be set to off, fixed or variable. Control options are RS232C in and out, an RJ45 input and an IR input. Two 10 W speakers provide built-in sound. The unit is Crestron Connected certified for integration with professional AV controls. It supports an OPS slot and the external MP500 or MP700 media players, and works with SuperSign CMS for content management and SuperSign Control or Control+ for monitoring. A conformal coating on the main circuit board guards against dust, iron powder and humidity, which helps during maintenance and in dusty conditions.

Next step: request a quote

SmartRooms Qatar supplies and delivers to all 8 municipalities of Qatar, arranges professional installation, and usually issues quotations within one working day, with purchase orders and Monaqasat tenders accepted. Questions about 55SE3KE

Is the LG 55SE3KE still sold by LG?

No. LG has discontinued the 55SE3KE, so it is no longer in the manufacturer's current range. If you need a 55-inch full HD signage display, request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar. We will suggest a current equivalent or a compatible replacement and check it against your media source, mounting and control system before you order.

What is the 55SE3KE best used for?

It suits businesses that loop promotional content, announcements or wayfinding on a single screen for long opening hours. The panel has a 1,920 x 1,080 native resolution and 350 cd/m² typical brightness, and the unit is rated for 18 hours of operation a day. Schools, clinics, hotel lobbies and retail entrances needing a standard signage screen are typical fits.

Will my existing 55SE3KE wall bracket or stand fit a replacement?

Not automatically. The 55SE3KE has a 300 x 300 mm VESA pattern, and its optional stand ST-492T and wall bracket LSW350B are listed for this model. Before ordering a replacement, compare its VESA pattern, weight and depth with the existing bracket. The head weighs 17.5 kg, or 20.8 kg with the optional stand, so check the wall or frame load too.

What temperature range can the 55SE3KE operate in?

The operating temperature is 0°C to 40°C, with 10% to 80% operating humidity. Outdoor temperatures in Qatar regularly exceed 45°C in summer, so install the screen inside air-conditioned rooms, away from windows that receive direct sun. If a site is not cooled, ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the environment before you choose a replacement.

Which inputs and outputs does it have?

It has two HDMI inputs, one DVI-D input, an RGB input, an audio input and a USB port. Audio output can be set to off, fixed or variable. For control, it provides RS232C in and out, an RJ45 input and an IR input. The basic package includes a remote controller, RGB cable, IR receiver and a phone-to-RS232C gender adapter.

Does it need a PC to run playlists?

The display has its own content menu, where you browse stored media, build playlists and set schedules with the remote controller. You can also load content from USB and copy it to other screens. For network-managed playback, SuperSign CMS is the listed content management software, and SuperSign Control or Control+ handles monitoring. An OPS slot and external MP500 or MP700 media players are also supported.

Does it work with an AV control system in a meeting room?

Yes, it is certified as Crestron Connected, which supports integration with professional AV control systems for automated control. For a boardroom in Lusail or a university meeting room in Education City, the RS232C in and out ports, RJ45 input and IR input give your control programmer several ways to connect the display to a control processor.

Is it suitable for a school corridor or hallway?

Yes, 55-inch screens are a practical fit for corridors. A private school in Al Wakrah could run timetable and announcement content on several units, using the USB copy feature to load one playlist and plug it into the others. The 11.9 mm side bezels and 18 mm bottom bezel help the screens sit neatly in a row. Confirm the corridor is air-conditioned, since the operating ceiling is 40°C.

How much power does it draw, and does it suit Qatar's mains supply?

The power supply is built in and rated 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz, which covers the 240 V, 50 Hz mains used in Qatar. Typical consumption is 65 W, with a maximum of 100 W, and the smart energy saving figure is 45.5 W. These numbers help when you estimate running costs for a lobby screen that operates 18 hours a day throughout the year.

Does it have built-in speakers?

Yes. It includes a 20 W speaker system made of two 10 W speakers, and a separate audio output can be set to off, fixed or variable. A hotel reception in West Bay or a bank branch can use the built-in sound for short announcements, while a large hall will usually need an external sound system fed from the audio output.

Can the screen cope with dust during Qatar's dust storms?

The main circuit board has a conformal coating that protects it against dust, iron powder and humidity. That helps during maintenance and in dusty locations such as industrial zones in Mesaieed or the Industrial Area. Dust storms still call for good practice, so keep the screen in a sealed, air-conditioned room and clean its vents regularly.

What is in the box, and does the manufacturer warranty apply?

The basic package lists a remote controller, power cord, quick start guide, RGB cable, regulation book, a phone-to-RS232C gender adapter and an IR receiver. Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. SmartRooms Qatar supplies and delivers to all 8 municipalities of Qatar, arranges professional installation, and accepts purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders through Monaqasat.
