What the BenQ RM8604 is and where it fits

The BenQ RM8604 is the 86-inch model in the Board Master RM04 series, a large interactive display for teaching spaces and meeting rooms. Its IPS panel runs at 3840 x 2160 pixels, so writing and text stay crisp when a full class reads from the back of the room. As the largest size in this series, it suits lecture halls, big training rooms and boardrooms where a 65-inch or 75-inch panel would be too small for the audience.

Panel brightness is 450 nits typical, the contrast ratio is 1,200:1 typical, and the panel shows 10-bit colour with 72% NTSC gamut. The display is landscape with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Touch, writing and wireless sharing

High Precision IR touch recognises up to 40 touch points, so several students or presenters can write on the glass at once. The glass is 9H tempered with an anti-glare finish, and the surface carries a nano-ionic silver germ-resistant treatment. Touch response is under 5 ms. The whiteboard software is EZWrite 6.0, and wireless sharing runs through InstaShare 2 so teachers and students can cast from their own devices without a cable.

The RM8604 has no built-in camera, so for hybrid teaching you would pair it with a separate camera; BenQ lists the DV01K smart 4K UHD camera as a companion product. Typical power draw is 168.9 W and standby draw is below 0.5 W. The unit is rated for AC 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, a range that includes Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply, and it carries ENERGY STAR listing.
