Overview

The BenQ Board Pro RP8605 is an 86-inch 4K UHD interactive display with a 50-point infrared touch frame, Android 15 and Google EDLA certification for Google Play apps. It runs a 10 TOPS NPU for on-device AI tools, and an OPS slot takes a slot-in PC. Directory sync removes manual account setup for IT teams. Suited to large classrooms, lecture halls and boardrooms across Qatar. Request a quote.

An 86-inch 4K panel built for large rooms

The BenQ Board Pro RP8605 is an 86-inch interactive display with a 3840 × 2160 IPS panel, 450 nits typical brightness and 10-bit colour. At this size, students at the back of a classroom or people at the far end of a boardroom table can read content clearly. The screen uses 9H tempered glass with a nano-ionic silver germ-resistant treatment, and the panel is rated at 8 ms response time.

Touch is handled by a high precision infrared frame that supports up to 50 touch points, with a touch response time below 2.5 ms. Several people can write, drag and annotate at the same moment, which matters in group work and collaborative planning sessions.

Computing, AI and sound inside the frame

The board runs Android 15 and holds Google EDLA certification, so approved apps can be downloaded from Google Play directly onto the screen. It has 16GB memory and 256GB storage, and a 10 TOPS NPU runs built-in AI features on the device itself. Local processing returns faster responses for real-time tasks and keeps sensitive material off external servers.

Audio comes from two 25 W speakers and a 20 W subwoofer, while an 8-microphone array picks up speech from up to 12 m. These figures matter in large rooms where a presenter walks to the far end of the display.

Connections for presenters and IT teams

Most rooms need several sources connected at once. The RP8605 offers:

  • Three HDMI 2.0 inputs and one HDMI 2.0 output
  • One DisplayPort 1.2a input and one VGA connection
  • USB-C ports rated for 100 W power delivery, plus USB-A and USB-B touch ports
  • One OPS slot for a slot-in PC, with Ethernet on the OPS module
  • Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC for wireless connection and sign-in

Mounting, weight and room conditions

The panel measures 1957.0 × 1200.6 × 130.0 mm and weighs 55.0 kg, or 73.6 kg with shipping packaging. It mounts to a VESA 800 × 600 mm pattern using four M8 screws, so the wall, bracket and fixing points should be checked before delivery. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C with 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, so the board should sit in an air-conditioned room away from direct sunlight. It runs on 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, with typical consumption of 126.4 W and standby below 0.5 W.

Where it fits across Qatar

  • Lecture halls in Education City or Doha: an 86-inch board with multi-point touch lets a lecturer and several students solve the same problem at the front of a large hall.
  • Boardrooms in West Bay or Lusail: the microphone array and speaker system suit long meeting tables where clear pickup matters.
  • Schools in Al Wakrah or Al Khor: a fitting-out project covering several classrooms can be ordered as one set, with the same mounting and account setup across every board.

What to plan before you order

Start with a free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar to check wall strength, the 800 × 600 mm mounting pattern, power and data routing, and cooling in the room. Schools and departments ordering several units can buy on a purchase order (LPO) or through government tenders, and payment is possible by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. SmartRooms Qatar delivers to all eight municipalities of Qatar and offers professional installation. Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Send your room size, the number of units and the wall type to SmartRooms Qatar and request a quote for the BenQ Board Pro RP8605.

Questions about RP8605

Which rooms is the BenQ Board Pro RP8605 designed for?
It suits large teaching and meeting rooms where an 86-inch screen is needed to reach the back row or the far end of a boardroom table. Lecture halls at Education City, university seminar rooms in Doha and executive meeting rooms in West Bay are typical fits. The 3840 × 2160 IPS panel and 50-point touch frame let a lecturer and several students work on the same screen at once.
Is an 86-inch board too large for a standard classroom?
It depends on the room. An 86-inch display works best where viewing distances are long. For a smaller classroom or meeting room, the RP6505, the 65-inch model in the same RP05 series, is usually the better size. Measure the room and seating distance first, and SmartRooms Qatar can recommend the size that suits your layout.
How many touch points does it support, and how fast is the response?
The infrared touch frame supports up to 50 touch points with a touch response time below 2.5 ms. That means several people can write, annotate or move content at the same time, which helps group tasks in a Doha classroom or a collaborative planning session. The surface is 9H tempered glass.
Can teachers install educational apps from Google Play?
Yes. The board runs Android 15 and holds Google EDLA certification, which gives access to Google Play so teachers can download approved educational apps onto the screen. Laptops running Windows, macOS or ChromeOS can also be connected, so software on a teacher's own laptop can be shown on the large display.
What does the 10 TOPS NPU do, and why does it matter?
The 10 TOPS NPU runs the board's built-in AI features locally, so tasks that need an immediate response do not wait on a remote server. Examples include neatening handwritten formulas and searching content a user circles on screen. Local processing also keeps sensitive material on the device, which matters to school and government IT teams.
How do IT teams manage accounts across many boards?
Directory sync imports users from ClassLink, Clever, Google, Microsoft and other identity providers, so accounts do not have to be created by hand on each board. Teachers can sign in with QR codes or NFC, and administrators can manage devices, apps and accounts through the DMS and AMS management tools. In a school with many classrooms, this reduces repetitive setup work.
Which inputs and ports are available for laptops and room PCs?
The board has three HDMI 2.0 inputs, one HDMI 2.0 output, a DisplayPort 1.2a input and a VGA port. It also has USB-C ports rated for 100 W power delivery, USB-A and USB-B touch ports, a 3.5 mm line in and optical S/PDIF out. This suits rooms where a teacher's laptop and a fixed room PC are both used.
Can the board take an internal PC?
Yes. It has one OPS slot for a slot-in PC, with Ethernet available on the OPS module. A slot-in PC lets desktop software run directly from the board without a separate computer on the desk. Confirm the OPS module specification and the software you need with the SmartRooms Qatar team when you request a quote, so the right module is included.
How much does it weigh, and what is needed to wall-mount it?
The product weighs 55.0 kg, or 73.6 kg shipped, and measures 1957.0 × 1200.6 × 130.0 mm. It mounts to a VESA 800 × 600 mm pattern using four M8 screws. The box includes one wall mount, two pens and one remote control. Because of the weight, a free site survey is recommended to check the wall, bracket and fixing points before delivery.
Will it cope with Qatar's summer heat?
Its operating range is 0°C to 40°C with 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, so install it in an air-conditioned room, away from direct sunlight, outdoor areas and dusty open lobbies. Confirm the room environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team during the site survey before fixing the board in place.
What power does it need and how much electricity does it use?
It is rated for AC 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, a range that includes the 240 V, 50 Hz mains used in Qatar. Typical power consumption is 126.4 W, standby is below 0.5 W, and the model carries ENERGY STAR. During the survey, check the socket and cable route to the board's position so electrical work is ready before installation.
Can a school order several units on a purchase order?
Yes. SmartRooms Qatar supplies on a purchase order (LPO) and for government tenders, including Monaqasat. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and delivery covers all eight municipalities of Qatar. Send the number of rooms and the wall type to receive a quote for the whole set.
