TEY21-i7

What the BenQ TEY21-i7 adds to a large display

The BenQ TEY21-i7 is an OPS slot-in PC. It sits inside a compatible BenQ interactive or non-touch display and gives the panel its own computer, so there is no need for a separate laptop, mini PC or cable run to the desk. The unit ships with Windows 10 Pro for Business in a trial version, so the screen can open Windows applications and files directly.

Processor, memory and storage

Inside the unit is an Intel 10th Gen Core i7-10210U processor with Intel UHD Graphics. It starts with 8 GB of RAM, which can be upgraded to 32 GB, and its storage can be expanded to 1 TB. The published base storage differs between the specification table and the product overview, so confirm the storage capacity of the unit with your quotation before ordering.

Ports and network connections

Connectivity is where the TEY21-i7 earns its place in a teaching room or boardroom. The unit provides one USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.1 ports, one USB 3.0 port and one USB 2.0 port for dongles, external drives and audio-visual peripherals. It also offers HDMI output, 3.5 mm audio input and output, and 1GbE wired Ethernet. Wireless covers IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac on 5 GHz and 802.11 b/g/n on 2.4 GHz, with two Wi-Fi antennas included.

Where it fits in Qatar

• A classroom block in Al Wakrah: a school fitting out new rooms can have teachers open Windows lesson files from the panel, without carrying a laptop into class.
• A boardroom in West Bay: hybrid meetings with teams abroad can run from the panel itself, with a wired Ethernet option when Wi-Fi is not preferred and USB ports for dongles and audio-visual equipment.
• An office in Doha working in Arabic and English: on a DuoBoard or CS display, Duo OS mode lets Android and Windows run on the same screen at the same time.

Planning the installation

The unit measures 180 x 30 x 119 mm. Check your exact panel model against the compatibility list before ordering, because compatibility is listed model by model. Plan where the network point, power and Wi-Fi antennas will sit at the back of the display. Book a free site survey with SmartRooms Qatar before the panel is mounted, and confirm room conditions in advance if the space is hot or dusty, since the source data gives no operating temperature range for this unit.
