A 98-inch 4K panel for rooms that need to be seen from the back

The DS-D5C98RB/A is a 98-inch interactive display from Hikvision's WonderHub Ultra Series, built around a 3840 × 2160 UHD panel. At this size, 4K resolution keeps text and diagrams sharp when a presenter stands several metres from the screen, which is why it suits large meeting spaces more than standard classrooms. The anti-glare glass has a 25% surface haze rating, which reduces reflections from ceiling lights and windows.

Panel and touch figures to check against your room

• Brightness: 600 cd/m² typical, with a 5000:1 static and 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
• Viewing angle: 178° horizontal and vertical on a VA panel, so content stays readable from wide seating.
• Refresh and response: 60 Hz refresh rate with 5 ms response time.
• Touch: infrared touch with up to 50 simultaneous points, response of 2 ms or less, and precision of ±0.5 mm across at least 90% of the touching area.
• Lifespan: rated at 50,000 hours.

The touch layer responds to objects as small as 1.5 mm, which suits detailed annotation with a pen or finger. Several people can write at once, which matters in collaborative lessons and workshops where groups gather around the screen.

Operating system, connectivity and audio

The panel runs Android 14.0 with 8 GB of memory, 128 GB of built-in storage and an eight-core processor. Windows is available through an optional OPS module, and the source specification recommends running video conferencing software under Windows. Inputs include three HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.2 input and one VGA input, with an HDMI 2.0 output for a second display. Three USB 3.0 touch connections and an RS232 port support control and multi-PC setups. Dual 1000 Mbps LAN ports and built-in WiFi 6 (802.11ax, 2 × 2 MIMO) help it join a corporate network. The Type-C port delivers 65 W charging at the front and 15 W at the side. NFC supports screen mirroring from Android phones, and the built-in loudspeakers are rated 2 × 20 W plus 25 W.

Where it fits in Qatar

In a boardroom in West Bay or Msheireb, the 98-inch size lets a team review a shared document, a project plan or a video call with colleagues abroad at full legibility, and the front Type-C port can charge a presenter's laptop during the session. In a lecture theatre at Education City, the panel suits seminars where students write on the screen in front of a large audience. A training centre in Al Sadd or Al Rayyan running sessions in Arabic and English can use the three HDMI inputs to switch between instructors' laptops quickly. The rated operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C at 10% to 90% humidity, so install it in an air-conditioned room away from direct sun through windows. Confirm the room conditions during a free site survey, because Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45 °C outside buildings.

Planning the wall, power and delivery

At 2219.8 mm × 1336.4 mm × 105.7 mm and 94 kg net (137 kg gross), this is a heavy panel. The VESA pattern is 1000 mm × 400 mm with M8 fixings, and a wall mount bracket is included. Check the wall structure and load before fixing, and measure the packed carton of 2520 mm × 1700 mm × 330 mm against the lift cabin, doorways and corridors on the delivery route. The panel accepts 100 to 240 VAC at 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply, and its average consumption is under 325 W, so plan a dedicated socket near the mount. SmartRooms Qatar delivers to all eight municipalities, offers professional installation and free site surveys, and usually issues quotations within one working day. Schools, government entities and companies can order through an LPO or a Monaqasat tender. Request a quote with your room dimensions and mounting details, and the team will confirm the configuration and installation plan in your quotation.
