An 86-inch interactive display built for shared rooms

The InFocus INF8650 belongs to the JTouch 50 Series and sits in the middle of the range, between the 75-inch and 98-inch models. Its 1895 x 1066 mm viewable area gives teachers, presenters and project teams a large working surface for writing, annotating and sharing at the same time. The panel is a 4K display with a 3840 x 2160 pixel grid, a 16:9 aspect ratio and a D-LED backlight.

Touch, display and computing facts that matter

Touch: infrared technology with up to 40 touch points, accuracy of +/- 1 mm, and a minimum object size of 3 mm for single touch and 8 mm for multi-touch.
Image: 450 cd/m2 brightness, 1200:1 contrast ratio, 5000:1 dynamic contrast, 8 ms response time and 60 Hz refresh rate.
Glass: anti-glare glass rated Mohs 7 at 3.2 mm thickness, which helps reduce reflections in rooms with windows.
Computing: Android 9 on a MediaTek MT9950 chip with a quad-core ARM Cortex A73 at 1.8 GHz, 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. The manufacturer states the software can be upgraded to Android 11.
Expansion: an OPS slot for an optional Intel Core i5 or i7 10th Gen slot-in PC.

Connectivity for laptops, networks and remote teams

Ports include VGA, HDMI 2.0 with ARC, USB-C, four USB-A 3.0 ports, two USB-B ports, a 3.5 mm stereo jack, an RJ45 Gigabit LAN port and SPDIF. USB-C carries video, audio, touch and data and supplies up to 65 W, so a laptop can connect and charge over one cable. Wireless is covered by a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 module supporting 802.11a/n/ac/ax and Bluetooth from 2.1 to 5. LightCast3 casting and LightManager remote administration help IT teams manage several panels from one place.

Where the 86-inch size fits in Qatar

A government authority in Doha can fit out a training room with this panel so a group of staff can review documents in Arabic and English side by side. A private school in Al Wakrah refitting a classroom or assembly hall can use the large screen so students at the back can still read whole-class lessons. A meeting room in West Bay or an office in Lusail can connect laptops and host video calls with teams abroad from one screen.

What to plan before installation

The panel weighs 64.6 kg (142.4 lb) and measures 1957 x 86 x 1159 mm, so a wall mount needs a structural check. We recommend a site survey before fixing anything to a wall, and SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys. The VESA pattern is 800 x 600 mm. The unit runs from 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, draws up to 550 W, and is rated for operating temperatures of 0 to 40 C with 10 to 90% humidity. Qatar summers can pass 45 C, so plan an air-conditioned room and confirm the environment with our team before installation. Shipping weight is 82.3 kg, so plan access and handling for delivery.

Questions about INF8650

Is the InFocus INF8650 suitable for a government training room in Doha?

Yes. It is an 86-inch 4K interactive display that lets a group of staff follow a session and write on the screen directly. It has 40-point infrared touch, Android 9 and built-in Wi-Fi 6. Keep the room air-conditioned, since the rated operating range is 0 to 40 C, and confirm the room layout with the SmartRooms Qatar team before the quotation is issued.

How large is the viewable area and how heavy is the panel?

The viewable area measures 1895 x 1066 mm and the overall unit is 1957 x 86 x 1159 mm. The panel weighs 64.6 kg (142.4 lb), and its shipping weight is 82.3 kg. Plan the wall structure and the route into the room before delivery, because a unit this size needs a secure fixing and clear access.

Which operating system does it run and can it be upgraded?

The panel runs Android 9 on a MediaTek MT9950 chip with a quad-core ARM Cortex A73 processor at 1.8 GHz, with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. The manufacturer states that an upgrade to Android 11 can be downloaded from its support site. Included applications cover whiteboarding, annotation, WPS Office and LightStore for installing approved apps.

What touch technology does it use and how accurate is it?

The INF8650 uses infrared touch with up to 40 touch points, accuracy of plus or minus 1 mm, and a minimum object size of 3 mm for single touch and 8 mm for multi-touch. Its 3.2 mm anti-glare glass has a Mohs 7 rating. In a classroom, this means several students can write or move objects at the same time during group work.

Our classroom in Al Rayyan has one wall for the panel. Can it be wall-mounted and what VESA pattern does it use?

Yes. The VESA MIS-F pattern is 800 x 600 mm, which differs from the 800 x 400 mm pattern on the 75-inch model, so check any bracket against this pattern rather than reusing one from a smaller panel. Because the unit weighs 64.6 kg, we recommend a site survey before installation, which SmartRooms Qatar offers free of charge.

How do staff connect a laptop in a meeting room in West Bay?

The panel offers HDMI 2.0 with ARC, USB-C, USB-A 3.0 ports, USB-B, a 3.5 mm stereo jack, SPDIF and RJ45 Gigabit LAN. USB-C carries video, audio, touch and data and supplies up to 65 W, so a laptop can connect and charge over one cable. A 3 m HDMI cable and a 3 m USB A to B cable are included in the box.

Can visitors cast from their phones or laptops to the panel in a Lusail meeting room?

Yes. The included wireless module supports 802.11a/n/ac/ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth from 2.1 to 5. LightCast3 casting works over the local network or through the panel's own JTouch hotspot, which the manufacturer describes as an added security option. The manufacturer quotes throughput of up to 9.6 Gbps, so test performance on your own network before finalising the design.

Will it cope with Qatar's summer heat?

The rated operating range is 0 to 40 C with 10 to 90% humidity, and storage is rated from -20 to 60 C. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 C, so the room should be air-conditioned and kept within the rated range. Confirm the installation environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team, especially for walls facing windows that receive direct sun.

Can I add an Intel PC to the panel later?

Yes. The INF8650 has an OPS slot that accepts an optional Intel Core i5 or i7 10th Gen slot-in PC module. This lets you run a Windows computing environment inside the display rather than a separate desktop. The module is an optional upgrade, so confirm the exact model and part number with the SmartRooms Qatar team when you request a quote.

What power supply does it need in Qatar?

The power supply is rated for 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, and the unit draws a maximum of 550 W. Network standby draws under 2.0 W and standby under 0.5 W. Qatar mains supply is 240 V at 50 Hz with BS 1363 Type G sockets, which falls within the rated range, and a power cord is included. Ask your electrician to confirm circuit planning for the wall location.

How does the 86-inch model compare with the 75-inch and 98-inch versions?

The INF8650 sits between the 75-inch INF7550 and the 98-inch INF9850 in the JTouch 50 Series. It has a viewable area of 1895 x 1066 mm and an 800 x 600 mm VESA pattern, against 800 x 400 mm on the 75-inch model. It weighs 64.6 kg. It suits a lecture hall or large boardroom where people sit far from the screen.

Can a school order several units on a purchase order?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs), government tenders including Monaqasat, and payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Send the quantity, the room list and the mounting walls, and the team usually returns a quotation within one working day covering supply, delivery to all eight municipalities of Qatar and professional installation. Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
