Overview

The Newline Windows OPS PC is an Intel-powered computer that fits the OPS slot on the back of a compatible Newline display, so the panel runs Windows without a separate PC or visible cables. It starts automatically with the display, offers 4K HDMI input and output, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, and comes in three Core Ultra configurations. It suits Qatari schools, ministries and meeting rooms wanting one tidy, ready-to-use panel. Request a quote.

What the Newline OPS PC adds to your display

The Newline Windows OPS PC is a complete Windows computer housed in a small metal module that fits the OPS slot on the back of a compatible Newline interactive display. Once installed, there is no desktop tower beside the panel and no cable running to the screen. When the display is switched on, the OPS PC starts with it, so a presenter can open a file or start a whiteboard session within moments of entering the room.

Programs installed on the OPS PC remain available to anyone who uses the display. Annotating over images, documents and whiteboard work all run on the computer itself, so participants do not need to install software on their own laptops before they touch the screen.

Three configurations to match the task

The range has three configurations. All share a 256 GB SSD, Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.3 and an integrated gigabit LAN port:

WB5E820W: Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, 8 GB DDR4, Windows 11 Pro preinstalled but not activated.
WB5E820U: Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, 8 GB DDR4, Windows 11 Pro with a Windows licence and MS Office 2019 (perpetual).
WB7E120U: Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, 16 GB DDR4, 24 MB cache, Windows 11 Pro with a Windows licence and MS Office 2019 (perpetual).

Ports, video and security

The front panel carries two USB-A 3.2 ports, two USB-A 2.0 ports, an RJ45 gigabit Ethernet port, a 3.5 mm audio line-out and microphone-in jack, and two USB-C ports: one Thunderbolt 4.0 and one supporting device mode. An HDMI 2.0 input at 4K and 60 Hz lets a laptop share its screen through the panel, and a front HDMI output at 4K and 30 Hz is also provided. The rear offers an HDMI 2.0 output at 4K and 60 Hz, a USB-A 2.0/3.2 port and a DisplayPort. TPM 2.0 firmware and OneKey Recovery help protect the system and restore it after a failure.

Where it fits in Qatar

A private school in Al Wakrah fitting out several classrooms, where lesson files and whiteboard tools stay on the panel rather than on each teacher's laptop.
A ministry meeting room in West Bay running a Sunday-to-Thursday schedule of presentations and calls with colleagues abroad, where installed programs are available to every user of the display.
A training centre in Education City that needs a consistent, fixed computing setup across several rooms, with room to add memory later.

What to plan before ordering

First, confirm that your exact Newline panel has an OPS slot on its back. The specification describes the OPS PC as compatible with all Newline displays, but the slot is the physical requirement for fitting it. The unit runs on a DC 19 V / 5 A working voltage and has an operating range of 0°C to 45°C with 5% to 95% humidity, non-condensing. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, so check that the room is air-conditioned and that the panel is not exposed to direct sun or hot glass. The unit measures 180 x 119 x 30 mm and weighs 0.7 kg net.

Questions about Windows OPS PC

What is the Newline Windows OPS PC?

It is an onboard Windows computer built to sit in the OPS slot on the back of a compatible Newline display. Once installed, the panel runs Windows itself, so you do not need a separate desktop or a cable running to the screen. It uses Intel Core Ultra processors and includes a 256 GB SSD, making it a practical choice for classrooms, boardrooms and training rooms in Doha and beyond.

Which Newline displays accept the OPS PC?

The manufacturer describes the OPS PC as compatible with all Newline displays, and it installs in the OPS slot on the back of the panel. Because that slot is the physical requirement, confirm that your exact panel model has one before you order. Send your model number with your quote request and our team can check it with you as part of the quotation.

Which configuration suits a school running heavy software?

The WB7E120U carries an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 24 MB cache, while the WB5E820W and WB5E820U use a Core Ultra 5 125H with 8 GB. A school that keeps several demanding applications open on one panel should choose the Ultra 7 model. Whiteboard lessons, presentations and web browsing fit comfortably on the Ultra 5 units.

Does the OPS PC include Microsoft Office?

The WB5E820U and WB7E120U include MS Office 2019 perpetual alongside a Windows licence. The WB5E820W comes with Windows 11 Pro preinstalled but not activated, and Office is not listed for that model. If your ministry or school already holds Office licences, the WB5E820W may be the better fit. Confirm the bundle you need when requesting a quote.

Does the panel start automatically with the OPS PC?

Yes. The OPS PC turns on automatically when the Newline display is switched on, so it does not need its own start-up step before a lesson or meeting. In a private school in Al Wakrah with several classrooms, a teacher only needs to switch on the panel. The computer is then ready for annotation, whiteboard work and the programs saved on it, without a separate laptop being connected first.

What ports are on the front of the OPS PC?

The front carries two USB-A 3.2 ports, two USB-A 2.0 ports, one RJ45 gigabit Ethernet port, one USB-C Thunderbolt 4.0 port and one USB-C port supporting device mode. It also has an HDMI 2.0 input at 4K and 60 Hz, a front HDMI output at 4K and 30 Hz, a 3.5 mm audio line-out and microphone-in jack, and a Kensington lock slot.

Can a laptop show its screen on the panel?

Yes, through the front HDMI 2.0 input, which accepts 4K at 60 Hz. In a West Bay meeting room, a presenter can connect a laptop with an HDMI cable and show its screen on the panel, while the built-in computer continues to handle whiteboard and annotation tools. Mention your meeting setup when requesting a quote so the connections can be planned in advance.

Can the OPS PC run in a hot room during Qatar summers?

The stated operating range is 0°C to 45°C with 5% to 95% humidity, non-condensing, and storage ranges from -20°C to 70°C. Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, so confirm that the room is air-conditioned and that the panel is not placed where sun or hot glass pushes conditions beyond the range. Our team can review the location during a free site survey.

How much memory and storage does it have, and can it be upgraded?

The WB5E820W and WB5E820U have 8 GB of DDR4 memory and the WB7E120U has 16 GB. All three models have a 256 GB SSD. The specification states that memory is expandable up to 64 GB using two 32 GB DDR4 modules. This suits a training centre running data-heavy courses, though you should confirm the upgrade path with our team before ordering.

How large is the OPS PC and how much does it weigh?

The unit measures 180 x 119 x 30 mm and weighs 0.7 kg net, or 1 kg gross with packaging. Its metal casing makes it a compact addition behind a panel rather than a separate box on a desk. The packaging measures 258 x 250 x 77 mm, which matters when a school or ministry receives several units and needs storage space before installation.

Can a school or ministry buy several units against an LPO?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar supplies against purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat, and accepts payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. A school fitting out several classrooms can request one quotation covering all the panels and OPS PC units it needs, and each unit is covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

What security and recovery features does it include?

The OPS PC includes TPM 2.0 firmware, which supports hardware-based security functions on a Windows device. It also includes OneKey Recovery, which the manufacturer provides to restore the computer after a system failure. These features matter for IT managers in government offices, because the computer is built into a shared display that many staff members use.
