Overview

The Promethean ActivPanel LX APLX-75 is a 75-inch 4K interactive display with no built-in operating system, so you run the OS you choose, whether Windows, Android or Chrome OS. It offers 20 continuous touch points, 3.2 mm anti-glare bonded glass, dual 15 W speakers and an OPS slot for a plug-in computing module. It suits large classrooms, training rooms and boardrooms across Qatar. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar.

An open-OS 75-inch panel for the system you already run

The Promethean ActivPanel LX APLX-75 ships without an operating system. You choose Windows, Android or Chrome OS, and the panel works in the environment your staff and students already know. This matters in Qatari offices and schools that work in Arabic and English side by side, and it lets IT teams standardise on one platform without retraining users. The APLX-75 sits between the APLX-65 and APLX-86 in the same LX range, giving a practical middle size for many rooms.

Display and touch figures that matter in bright rooms

The panel shows 3840 x 2160 resolution at 60 Hz across a display area of 1652 x 930 mm, with 1.07 billion colours at 10-bit depth. Brightness is rated at 350 cd/m², and 400 cd/m² applies without the cover glass. The 3.2 mm heat-tempered glass is anti-glare and rated 8H pencil hardness, and an ambient light sensor adjusts to the room. Touch supports 20 continuous points at 1 mm accuracy, with palm rejection and pen and touch differentiation, so a teacher can write with a pen while resting a hand on the glass.

Connectivity and expansion for a larger room

OPS slot: one slot for a plug-in computing module. Promethean lists the OPS-M for Windows, the OPS-A for Android and a Chromebox for Chrome OS as options.
Video inputs: three HDMI 2.0 ports, one at the front and two at the rear.
Peripherals: three USB-A 2.0 ports, plus a front USB-C port with 15 W Power Delivery.
Control and network: touch USB-B ports at front and rear, LAN in and out, RS232, VGA and Wake-on-LAN.

Two 15 W (peak) speakers are built in, enough for a classroom. A larger room may need the ActivSoundBar, which Promethean lists as an optional accessory.

Where a 75-inch panel fits in Qatar

This size suits rooms where ten to twenty people need to read a shared screen from the far seats. In Al Wakrah, a private school fitting out upper-year classrooms could mount the panel on a fixed wall bracket and run its chosen platform on it. In Msheireb, a company meeting room could run a video call with teams abroad, using the HDMI and USB-C inputs for a laptop. In Education City, a training centre could use it for workshop presentations, with the included ActivInspire Personal licence supporting lesson preparation.

Planning the mount, power and room conditions

At 50 kg net and 61.6 kg packed, the panel needs a wall rated for its weight and a team to lift it. The VESA pattern is 800 x 400 mm, and M6 mounting screws are supplied. Typical power draw is 132 W, standby is 0.5 W or less, and the unit accepts 100 to 240 V AC with a regional power cable included. The operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C at 20% to 80% non-condensing humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 °C, so keep the panel in an air-conditioned room away from direct sun and confirm the conditions with the SmartRooms Qatar team before installation.

SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey before wall-mounting a panel of this weight, along with professional installation. Request a quote for the APLX-75 and we will confirm the mount, accessories and delivery to all eight municipalities of Qatar. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and purchase orders, LPOs and government tenders are welcome. Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Questions about APLX-75

What is the Promethean APLX-75 and who is it for?

The APLX-75 is a 75-inch 4K UHD interactive display in the ActivPanel LX range. It suits medium to large classrooms, training rooms and meeting rooms where a group needs to read and touch a shared screen. Its 3840 x 2160 resolution at 60 Hz and 20 touch points make it a practical choice for lessons and presentations in Doha, Lusail or Al Rayyan. Request a quote to confirm the size suits your room.

Does the APLX-75 come with an operating system?

No. The panel has no built-in operating system, so you run the OS you choose, whether Windows, Android or Chrome OS, through a connected computer or a plug-in module. Promethean lists the OPS-M for Windows, the OPS-A for Android and a Chromebox for Chrome OS as optional accessories. Availability varies by region, so we confirm which options are available for your location in the quotation.

How many touch points does it support and which pens are included?

The APLX-75 supports 20 continuous touch points with 1 mm touch accuracy, palm rejection and palm erase. Two battery-less pens with a 3 mm tip are included, and an integrated full-length pen tray holds them. Pen and touch differentiation lets the panel tell pen input from finger touch, so a teacher can write with a pen while resting a hand on the glass.

Is it bright enough for a room with large windows in Doha?

The panel is rated at 350 cd/m², and 400 cd/m² applies without the cover glass. It also has anti-glare glass and an ambient light sensor. In rooms with large windows, position the screen away from direct sun and close blinds around midday. A site survey before installation helps identify the best wall and angle for the panel.

How do I connect a laptop and a video conferencing system?

The panel has three HDMI 2.0 inputs, one at the front and two at the rear, for a laptop or external source. Three USB-A 2.0 ports can take a camera or microphone, and touch USB-B ports link the touch function to a computer. LAN in and out ports at 10/100/1000 support a wired network connection. Confirm your camera and microphone compatibility with your conferencing platform before ordering.

Is the APLX-75 suitable for a classroom in a private school in Al Wakrah?

Yes, 75 inches suits medium to large classrooms, and the 4K resolution and 10-bit colour help display maps, diagrams and detailed graphics. With the included pens and the ActivInspire Personal licence, teachers can prepare and run lessons on the same panel. The room should be air-conditioned, and SmartRooms Qatar can review the classroom layout with you before installation.

Can it work in a West Bay meeting room that connects Doha with teams abroad?

Yes. Connect via HDMI, USB-C or LAN, and use the two 15 W (peak) speakers for small groups. Wake-on-LAN lets your IT team power the panel on remotely. In rooms seating more than ten people, the optional ActivSoundBar can improve audio. Choose a camera and microphone sized to the room, and confirm the setup with us before the panel is delivered.

What operating conditions does it need in Qatar's summer?

The operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C at 20% to 80% non-condensing humidity, and storage range is -15 °C to 55 °C. Because Qatar summer temperatures can exceed 45 °C, install the panel in an air-conditioned room, away from sunlit glazing and dusty open areas. If the space faces harsh conditions, confirm the environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.

How heavy is the panel and how is it mounted?

The panel weighs 50 kg net and 61.6 kg packed. It uses an 800 x 400 mm VESA pattern with M6 screws supplied. A fixed wall mount compatible with all sizes is available, along with height-adjustable and mobile stand options. Promethean recommends installation by a qualified installer. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey to check wall strength and fixing points before the panel is mounted.

What is the power consumption and is the model energy certified?

Typical power consumption is 132 W, and standby is 0.5 W or less. The unit accepts 100 to 240 V AC, which covers Qatar's 240 V supply. The 75-inch model is Energy Star certified, which helps when facilities teams compare consumption for government or public building purchases. Ask for the full certification details with your quotation.

Is the APLX-75 covered by warranty?

Products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Warranty term and upgrade options vary by region, so SmartRooms Qatar will confirm the terms that apply to your order in the quotation. If you are buying several panels for a school or government office, ask for the warranty conditions in writing before issuing your purchase order.

Can we buy it with an LPO or through a government tender?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders, LPOs and government tenders, including those published on Monaqasat. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. For a school or ministry ordering several units, we can align the model, accessories and delivery schedule in one quotation.
