Suited to boardrooms, classrooms and training rooms in Doha, Lusail and Education City. Request a quote for supply, delivery and installation.

What the PN-LB653 is built for

The PN-LB653 is a 65-inch member of Sharp's PN-LB series of midrange collaboration displays. Its IPS panel with direct LED backlighting runs at 3840 x 2160 in a 16:9 format, with 500 cd/m² brightness measured without the protective glass and a typical contrast ratio of 1500:1. Viewing angles are rated at 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, so people seated well off-centre still see the same picture. The screen can be installed in landscape or portrait.

Touch and writing for group sessions

The infrared touch layer recognises up to 40 touches at once and accepts a finger, a gloved hand, a stylus or the dual-tip pen, which has 2.6 mm and 6.8 mm tips. Windows Ink and palm rejection are included, so a presenter can rest a hand on the glass while writing. Accuracy is rated at plus or minus 1 mm, and the typical 8 ms grey-to-grey response keeps moving content clear. The protective glass is 3.2 mm thick, rated 9 on the hardness scale, with an anti-glare coating and a bonding gap under 1 mm.

Android 14 and one cable for every meeting

The built-in Android 14 system has 8GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and carries Google EDLA certification for access to the Google Play Store. A whiteboard, PDF viewer, web browser, file manager and EShare wireless screen sharing come preinstalled. The USB-C 1 port takes video at UHD 60 Hz, a touch signal and up to 100 W of power, so a laptop can charge while it is connected. Three HDMI inputs, one with ARC, handle cameras, PCs and set-top boxes. An OPS slot accepts a plug-in computer module; Sharp recommends the OPS Enterprise Pro or OPS Enterprise Ultra.

Where it fits in Qatar

  • Boardrooms in West Bay or Msheireb: a 65-inch screen suits a mid-sized table, with built-in speakers rated at 2 x 15 W for local calls and presentations, and a soundbar available as an accessory.
  • Classrooms and learning spaces in Al Wakrah or Education City: teachers can annotate lessons, play video and open Android apps from one panel, and an Eco Sensor accessory can be added for presence and ambient light control.
  • Training rooms and government offices across Doha: NaViSet Administrator 2 and the security options let IT teams manage several panels, disable hardware buttons and USB ports, and schedule power on and off.

What to plan before installation

At 35 kg with dimensions of 1,487 x 862 x 87 mm, the panel needs a wall structure rated for its weight. The VESA pattern is 600 x 400 mm with M8 fittings, and the packed unit weighs 48 kg, so plan the delivery route, lift access and storage area before delivery day. SmartRooms Qatar carries out free site surveys to check the wall, the power route and the viewing distance from the seats before fixing. Power draw is 140 W typical, and the 100-240 V AC supply covers Qatar's 240 V mains. Keep the room within the operating range of +5 to +35 °C. The manufacturer warranty is three years including the backlight, with an optional fourth and fifth year extension.

For schools, ministries or companies ordering several units, SmartRooms Qatar can supply against a purchase order (LPO) or a government tender. Request a quote with your room count, mounting type and any accessories such as the trolley or wall bracket, and our team will reply with a detailed quotation, usually within one working day.

Questions about PN-LB653

Who is the PN-LB653 designed for?
It suits organisations that hold shared meetings, lessons or training sessions in one room. A 65-inch 4K screen works well in mid-sized boardrooms, classrooms and training rooms, where several people need to read the same content and write on it. Because it is an interactive display rather than a passive screen, the group can annotate, save and share content without a separate whiteboard.
Is the PN-LB653 suitable for classrooms in Qatari schools?
Yes, provided the room is sized so a 65-inch panel can be read from the back row. A private school in Al Wakrah or Education City fitting out new classrooms could use the built-in whiteboard, PDF viewer and Android apps for lessons. Because the operating range is +5 to +35 °C, the room's air conditioning must hold that range during teaching hours.
What is the operating temperature, and can it go in a non-air-conditioned space?
The panel is rated for operation between +5 °C and +35 °C at 20 to 80% humidity, and it can be stored between -20 °C and 60 °C. Qatar summer temperatures regularly exceed 45 °C, so it should be installed in an air-conditioned room away from direct sunlight and dust-prone openings. If a space is not air-conditioned, confirm the environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.
How many touches and input methods are supported?
The infrared touch supports real multi-touch up to 40 touches, with finger, glove, stylus and dual-tip pen input. The pen tips measure 2.6 mm and 6.8 mm. Windows Ink and palm rejection are included, and accuracy is rated at plus or minus 1 mm. Several people can write at once during a workshop, and a presenter can rest a hand on the glass without stray strokes being recorded.
How do I connect a laptop with a single cable?
The USB-C 1 port carries UHD video at 60 Hz, a touch signal, USB data and up to 100 W of power. A teacher or presenter can connect a laptop with one cable, which charges the laptop while the screen shows its content and responds to touch. Three HDMI inputs, one with ARC, sit alongside it for cameras, PCs and other sources.
Does it run Android apps, and can we install our own software?
Yes. The built-in Android 14 system has 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and carries Google EDLA certification, which gives access to the Google Play Store. The source data also lists app side loading and application lock. Before approving a purchase, agree with your IT team which apps are required and confirm they run on this Android system.
Can a PC be added through an OPS module?
Yes. The panel has an OPS slot built to the NEC and Intel open pluggable specification. Sharp recommends the OPS Enterprise Pro or OPS Enterprise Ultra. Auto Switch options cover the Android system, the OPS module and a PC, so the touch and USB peripherals can follow the active source. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to match the OPS module with your software before ordering.
Can it be wall mounted, and how much space does it need?
The VESA pattern is 600 x 400 mm with M8 fittings. The unit weighs 35 kg and measures 1,487 x 862 x 87 mm. Before fixing it to a wall in a Msheireb meeting room or a Lusail office, a structural check of the wall is recommended. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys that confirm the wall, the power route and the viewing distance before installation.
Can it be used in portrait orientation?
Yes. The screen supports landscape and portrait orientation, and the data lists on-screen display rotation for portrait mode as well as portrait support for apps. Portrait suits corridor signage, reception desks and long document review. Because weight and bracket position change, portrait or tilted installations should be planned during the mounting survey.
How long is the warranty, and what does it cover?
Sharp provides a three-year warranty that includes the backlight, with an optional fourth and fifth year extension. Products supplied by SmartRooms Qatar are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. If your school, ministry or company wants the extension recorded on the purchase order, mention it in your quote request so it is confirmed before the order is placed.
Are the security and remote management features suitable for a government office?
The panel can disable hardware buttons, infrared functionality and USB ports, and it supports IEEE 802.1X on LAN and Wi-Fi. NaViSet Administrator 2 is listed for remote management and scheduling. An IT team can lock the panel to approved use before it is handed to staff in a ministry office or authority meeting room, and should check the settings against its own security policy.
How much power does it draw, and does it suit Qatar's mains supply?
Typical consumption is 140 W. The power supply is rated for 100-240 V AC at 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Standby draw is under 0.5 W in ECO standby and under 2 W in networked standby. Confirm that the supplied power cable suits BS 1363 sockets before installation, so the connection is checked on site.
