SDM Slot-In PC Collaboration (RPL)

What this slot-in PC adds to a Sharp LA Series display

The Sharp SDM Slot-In PC Collaboration (RPL) is an Intel Smart Display Module built to slot into compatible Sharp LA Series collaboration displays. Rather than placing a separate computer beside the screen and running cables between them, the panel itself gains a Windows 11 Professional environment. A meeting can start directly from the display with the applications your team uses already available. The source data lists compatibility with the PN-LA752, PN-LA652 and PN-LA862.

Processor, memory and storage

The module is built around an Intel Core i5-1335U with 10 cores, made up of 2 performance cores and 8 efficient cores, reaching a maximum of 4.6 GHz. It is fitted with 16GB of dual channel RAM and 256GB of storage. The data lists Intel Iris Xe Graphics eligibility, and the platform supports Direct3D 12.1, OpenGL 4.6 and OpenCL 3.0. These figures matter most when several applications run at once or when video content must play smoothly on a large screen.

Hardware decoding and software support

• Video decoding: H.265/HEVC, VP8, VP9, MPEG2, JPEG, VC1 and AVC
• Operating system: Windows 11 Professional
• Preinstalled: Sharp Meeting Launcher with AirServer for wireless screen sharing

Where it fits in Qatar

In a boardroom in West Bay, executives often move between a shared document, a video call with a team abroad and a presentation from a laptop. A display with this module gives the room one starting point for all of it. The manufacturer describes the module as silent in operation, which helps keep the room quiet during long sessions.

A private school in Al Wakrah fitting out new classrooms can order one module for each compatible display and place the whole order on a single LPO. Teachers start from the same Windows environment in every room, and staff who move between rooms find the same Sharp Meeting Launcher layout.

A government ministry in Msheireb setting up a briefing room needs managed, secure equipment. Intel vPro Essentials is included to support security and simpler IT administration, and the Sharp Information Display Downloader helps keep applications and firmware for Sharp Collaboration Displays current.

What to plan before you order

Check the display model first. This module is listed for the PN-LA752, PN-LA652 and PN-LA862, so confirm that the panel you own or plan to buy is one of them before committing. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey, which helps you check where the panel sits, how the network connection will reach it and whether the room layout suits the screen size.

• Confirm the display model against the compatibility list
• Plan network access for Windows 11 updates and application downloads
• Compare processor, memory and storage when weighing other modules
