Overview

The Specktron PDM-27AP is a 27-inch smart digital podium that puts presentation control, annotation, audio and connectivity in one unit. Its 4K UHD touch panel supports 10 touch points, runs Android 13 with 8GB RAM and 64GB storage, and offers wireless screen sharing. Dual gooseneck microphones and an electric height lift with casters suit teachers, lecturers and presenters in Qatari classrooms, lecture halls and meeting rooms.

What the PDM-27AP does at the front of the room

The Specktron PDM-27AP is a smart digital podium built around a 27-inch touch display. It gathers the controls a presenter normally juggles across a laptop, a remote, a microphone and a separate screen into one unit that stands at the front of the room. Because the panel is also the control surface, the presenter can annotate, navigate and manage content directly on the glass.

Display, touch and processing figures

The panel has a 4K UHD resolution of 3840 × 2160 and a brightness rating of 400 cd/m². Touch uses projected capacitive (PCAP) technology with 10 touch points, which supports multi-finger input. The pixel pitch is 0.1554 mm both horizontally and vertically. Inside, the unit runs Android 13 with 8GB RAM and 64GB ROM, which gives room for applications and stored lesson or meeting files without relying on a separate computer for every session.

Connections for laptops, cameras and wireless sharing

Wired inputs include one HDMI IN (2.1) for a laptop or external source, and one HDMI OUT for passing the signal on to another display. A Type-C output, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port and a 3.5 mm audio output complete the list of ports. Wireless screen sharing lets a presenter send content from a personal device and annotate over it, so a teacher or speaker does not need to disconnect cables between sessions. Dual gooseneck microphones are integrated into the unit for capturing the presenter's voice.

Where it fits in Qatar

In a private school in Al Wakrah fitting out new classrooms, the PDM-27AP can sit at the front of a room for the teacher, and its casters let staff move it between rooms when lesson timetables change. In a university lecture hall in Education City, it works as a control point for a lecturer who switches between slides, handwritten notes and a video source during a session. In a government office meeting room in Msheireb, it gives a chairperson one place to show a document, annotate it and share content wirelessly.

What to plan before ordering

Room layout: the 27-inch screen suits presenters at close range. For a large audience, confirm sightlines with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.
Power and sources: the DC input is rated 20V / 5A. Confirm the power arrangement and the laptop and camera connections before the quotation is issued.
Movement: the electric height adjustment and built-in casters help when presenters change, but plan the route over the floor surface and through doorways before delivery.

Questions about PDM-27AP

What is the Specktron PDM-27AP used for?

The PDM-27AP is a smart digital podium for presenters who need presentation control, annotation, audio and connectivity in one unit. It suits teachers, lecturers and meeting chairs in classrooms, lecture halls and meeting rooms. Because the 27-inch touch display sits at the front of the room, the presenter can work on the glass directly instead of moving between a laptop, a remote and a separate screen.

What display specifications does the PDM-27AP have?

The 27-inch panel offers 4K UHD resolution of 3840 × 2160 and a brightness rating of 400 cd/m². Touch uses PCAP projected capacitive technology with 10 touch points and a pixel pitch of 0.1554 mm. This screen size suits a presenter standing close to it. For a larger audience, confirm sightlines with the SmartRooms Qatar team before you request a quote.

Which operating system and memory does it run?

The PDM-27AP runs Android 13 with 8GB RAM and 64GB ROM storage. These figures let presenters open apps and keep lesson files or meeting materials on the unit itself, so each session does not depend on a separate computer. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team if your software needs specific storage or application requirements before you place an order.

What ports are available for connecting laptops and sources?

The panel has one HDMI IN (2.1) for a laptop or external source, one HDMI OUT for passing the signal to another display, one Type-C output, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port and one 3.5 mm audio output. Power comes through a DC IN rated 20V / 5A. Confirm the cable types your laptops and cameras use when you request the quotation.

Can presenters share their screens wirelessly?

Yes. The PDM-27AP supports wireless screen sharing and annotation, so a presenter can send content from a personal device and mark it up on the display. In a university lecture hall in Education City, this lets a lecturer move around the room during a lecture instead of returning to the lectern to swap cables between speakers.

Are microphones included with the PDM-27AP?

Yes, the unit includes dual gooseneck microphones as part of its integrated audio and connectivity. A 3.5 mm audio output is also provided for connecting external audio equipment. For a large hall or a room with a challenging acoustic layout, confirm your audio requirements with the SmartRooms Qatar team during the site survey before you finalise the order.

How does the height adjustment work and can the podium be moved?

The unit has electric height adjustment and built-in casters. Staff can raise or lower the display for different presenters and wheel it between rooms, which suits a private school in Al Wakrah that shares one podium across several classrooms. Plan the route over the floor and through doorways before delivery, and ask the team to check the layout during the free site survey.

Does a 27-inch podium suit a large lecture hall?

The PDM-27AP is a presenter-side unit, best suited to classrooms, seminar rooms and small to mid-sized meeting spaces where the speaker stands close to the display. In a large lecture hall, a separate larger display or projection setup may be more suitable. SmartRooms Qatar can review your room layout during a free site survey in Doha or Lusail before you request a quote.

What space and power should we plan for?

The source data gives the DC input as 20V / 5A and confirms built-in casters, but it does not list overall dimensions or mains cable details, so we do not state them here. Before ordering, ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm the power arrangement, cable routes and the floor area the podium will need at its current height setting.

Is this podium suitable for a government office meeting room?

Yes, for a chairperson who needs to show documents, annotate them and share content wirelessly during a session. In a government office in Msheireb, one podium can replace a laptop cart and a separate screen at the front of the room, keeping the meeting space tidy and the presentation controls within reach of the chair.

Can a school buy several units under a purchase order?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar supports purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, so a school fitting out several classrooms can order the full quantity of PDM-27AP units against one purchase order. Delivery covers all eight municipalities of Qatar, and professional installation can follow a free site survey. State the number of rooms when you request the quotation.

Is the Specktron PDM-27AP covered by a warranty?

Yes, products supplied by SmartRooms Qatar are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. The source data does not give a warranty duration or terms, so those details are not stated here. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to confirm the written warranty terms with your quotation before you issue a purchase order.
