What the IFP9851 is and who it suits

The ViewSonic IFP9851 is a landscape interactive display built on a 98-inch UHD panel with 3840x2160 resolution. Its visible area measures 97.5 inches, so a large group can share one screen and still read it from the back of the room. It is aimed at organisations that want a single panel for lessons, presentations and meetings.

In Qatar, the panel fits three common situations. A university lecture theatre in Education City can use it for large cohorts, switching between a lecturer laptop and a second source. A boardroom in West Bay can host meetings where part of the team joins from abroad. A private school in Al Wakrah can use a multipurpose hall for assemblies and presentations.

Touch, picture and writing performance

Touch uses infrared recognition with 50 touch points and palm rejection, so several people can annotate at once even when a hand rests on the glass. The surface has 9H hardness with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint treatment. Typical brightness is 400 nits, with a typical contrast ratio of 1200:1 and a dynamic contrast ratio of 5000:1. The response time is 6.5 ms, and viewing angles reach 178 degrees horizontally and vertically. A light sensor is fitted, and the panel carries a Low Blue Light certification and a Flicker Free listing.

Ports for mixed sources

Lessons and meetings usually combine laptops, office PCs and room equipment, so the input list matters. The IFP9851 provides:

• Four HDMI 2.1 inputs, two at the front and two at the rear, with CEC and HDCP
• One DisplayPort input and one RGB/VGA input
• One OPS PC slot for a slot-in computer
• Three USB-C ports with power delivery, the front one rated 65W
• Five USB Type-A ports, four of them supporting SmartPort USB, plus two USB Type-B ports
• Two RJ45 LAN ports, an RS232 port, an HDMI output and an optical S/PDIF output

Audio, sign-in and software

The speaker system combines two 25W front channels with a 20W subwoofer. An eight-microphone array is built in to pick up speech across the room. The platform runs an octa-core CPU with 16GB RAM and 128GB storage. Software is EDLA-certified on Android 16, which gives secure access to Google Play apps, and ViewSonic Education Software is integrated with whiteboarding, wireless casting and remote device management. An NFC reader and SSO sign-in bring up each user's personal settings quickly. A top camera plate and mounting screws are in the box, but a camera itself is not in the package contents.

Planning a Qatar installation

The panel weighs 83.7 kg net and 104.55 kg in packaging, and its physical size is 2219.6 x 1323.3 x 85.1 mm. The wall mount pattern is 800 x 600 VESA, so the wall structure must be checked before the panel is ordered and fixed. A free site survey confirms the wall, the cable route and the power point before installation. Power input accepts 100 to 240V AC, with typical consumption of 143.96W when on and under 0.5W when off.

The operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius with 20% to 80% relative humidity, non-condensing. Outside temperatures in Qatar can pass 45 degrees Celsius in summer, so the room must be air-conditioned and kept within that range.
