What the IN6505-C is built for

The ViewSonic ViewBoard IN6505-C is a 65-inch landscape interactive flat panel with a 3840 x 2160 UHD screen. It combines a display, a touch layer and an Android computer in one unit, so a teacher or presenter can write, annotate, share content and open apps without a separate PC on the desk. At this size it suits classrooms, training rooms and meeting rooms rather than large lecture halls, where a bigger panel or a projector would be the better choice.

Android 16, EDLA and Google Play access

The panel runs Android 16 under the Android Enterprise Device License Agreement, which gives it Google certification and access to the Google Play Store. Staff can install learning and collaboration apps directly on the panel. The platform has an octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The source also lists built-in AI tools for problem solving, real-time subtitles and automated brainstorming, which teachers can use during lessons.

Display, touch and ports

Resolution: 3840 x 2160 UHD with 1.07 billion colours (8-bit plus FRC)
Brightness: 400 nits, with a 5,000:1 maximum contrast ratio when DCR is enabled
Touch: infrared, 50 points on Windows and Android, with fingers or the two pens supplied
Surface: 9H hardness, anti-glare coating and zero bonding
Backlight life: 50,000 hours

The anti-glare surface reduces reflections from ceiling lights and windows. Fifty touch points let several people write at the same time, and the 6.5 ms response time with 178-degree viewing angles keeps content readable from the side of the room. Three HDMI inputs (one front, two rear, with HDMI 1 supporting ARC) accept HDMI 2.0 at 3840 x 2160 and 60Hz. The RJ45 port reaches 1000 Mbps for Android, but the OPS and touch-out connections are limited to 100 Mbps. The USB-C port at the front transfers data but does not provide power delivery, extended screen or touchback, so connect laptops over HDMI. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in, and the 80-pin OPS slot takes a compatible slot-in PC, listed in the source as the VPC3 series.

Where it fits in Qatar

Three realistic settings suit this panel:

A primary classroom at a private school in Al Wakrah, where the panel replaces a projector and a separate computer, and the teacher uses touch and Google Play apps from one screen.
A small boardroom in West Bay, where a laptop connects through HDMI and the RJ45 port provides wired network access.
A training room at a centre in Education City, where groups rotate through short sessions and the OPS slot can host a compatible PC when a Windows workflow is needed.

Qatar summers can push outdoor and unconditioned spaces above 45°C. The stated operating range is 0°C to 40°C with 20% to 80% humidity, non-condensing, so install the panel in an air-conditioned room, away from direct sun through glass. SmartRooms Qatar will confirm the room conditions during your site survey.

Planning the installation and power

The VESA pattern is 600 x 400 mm. The panel measures 1491 x 898.5 x 99.1 mm and weighs 30.2 kg net or 38.2 kg in packaging, so wall-mounting needs a secure wall and two people to lift it. Power input is listed as 100-240V AC with a wide range, which covers Qatar's 240V supply. Rated normal consumption is 72.54W when on and under 0.5W when off. The supplied 3m power cord has an IN plug, so we will confirm a BS 1363 (Type G) lead or adaptor with your quotation. Free site surveys are available before wall-mounting heavy panels, and quotations are usually issued within one working day. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar to plan your IN6505-C installation.

Questions about IN6505-C

Who is the ViewSonic IN6505-C best suited for?

It suits teachers, training managers and meeting-room teams who need one 65-inch panel to act as display, whiteboard and Android computer. This size fits a classroom in Doha or Lusail, or a meeting room in Msheireb, where viewers sit close to the screen. For large lecture halls, review a bigger screen size before you decide, because the 65-inch panel is better suited to smaller and mid-sized rooms.

Can staff install apps from Google Play on this panel?

Yes. The IN6505-C runs Android 16 under the Android Enterprise Device License Agreement, which gives it Google certification and access to the Google Play Store. The platform includes an octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for installed apps and files. Confirm that the specific apps you need run on Android before ordering several units.

How many touch points does it support, and what can I write with?

The infrared touch system supports 50 points on both Windows and Android, so several people can write or annotate at the same time. You can use fingers or the dual-tip pens, and two touch pens are included in the box. The touch resolution is specified at 32768 x 32768, which the source data lists as the touch grid.

Will sunlight from windows wash out the screen in a Doha office?

The panel is rated at 400 nits with a 9H anti-glare surface and zero bonding, which reduces reflections from ceiling lights and windows. Direct sunlight on the glass still affects any screen, so position the panel away from direct afternoon light and check sightlines during the free site survey. Controlled blinds or a room with managed light help most in bright offices across Doha.

What temperature and humidity does it need, given Qatar summers?

The operating range is 0°C to 40°C with 20% to 80% humidity, non-condensing. Outdoor temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C in summer, so the panel should sit in an air-conditioned room, not an unconditioned storeroom, outdoor lobby or hot corridor. SmartRooms Qatar will confirm your room conditions when we prepare the quotation.

Which ports does the IN6505-C provide?

Inputs are three HDMI ports (one front, two rear), RS232, audio and a front USB-C port. Outputs include HDMI at 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz, audio and SPDIF. There are four USB-A ports, two USB-B ports, one RJ45 LAN port and one 80-pin OPS slot, plus built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Plan cable routes for the rear HDMI ports before any wall mounting.

Can I charge my laptop or extend its screen through the USB-C port?

No. The source data states that the USB-C port does not support power delivery, extended screen or touchback. It handles data transfer only, so it will not charge a laptop or extend the display. Connect laptops through one of the HDMI inputs, and use the USB ports for peripherals and storage devices.

What is the OPS slot for, and which PC works with it?

The 80-pin OPS slot accepts a compatible slot-in PC, and the source data lists the VPC3 series. It lets the panel run a computer module plugged into the unit, which is useful where a Windows environment is needed alongside Android. Confirm the module choice and the mounting plan with us before ordering, as compatibility depends on the specific PC.

Does it work with Qatar's 240V power supply?

The power input is listed as 100-240V AC with a wide range of plus or minus 10 percent, which covers the 240V mains used in Qatar. Normal consumption is 72.54W when on and under 0.5W when off. The supplied 3m power cord has an IN plug, so we will confirm a lead or adaptor that fits BS 1363 (Type G) sockets when we send your quotation.

How heavy is it, and what do we need for wall mounting?

The net weight is 30.2 kg and the packed weight is 38.2 kg, so two people should lift it. The VESA pattern is 600 x 400 mm, and the panel measures 1491 x 898.5 x 99.1 mm. Before mounting in a meeting room or lobby, have the wall checked for load capacity and clearance. Our free site survey covers this check for panels of this size.

Does it include a camera or microphone for video calls with teams abroad?

The source data does not list a built-in camera or microphone, so do not assume the panel handles video calls on its own. For meetings in West Bay that link Doha with teams abroad, plan a separate conferencing camera and microphone, and confirm the connection with your conferencing system. The built-in speakers are rated 20W x 2 for room audio.

We are a school in Al Khor ordering several panels. What should we plan?

Send a purchase order (LPO) listing the model, quantity and installation sites. Plan wall and power points for each classroom, including 240V supply and any plug adaptor, and book the free site survey before ordering. Quotations are usually issued within one working day. Government tenders, including those on Monaqasat, are accepted, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order.
