What the VPC17-WP-6 adds to a ViewBoard display

The VPC17-WP-6 is a slot-in computer module for compatible ViewBoard interactive displays. Instead of connecting a separate desktop PC, the room runs Windows 10 Pro 64-bit from the panel itself. Intel Unite is embedded for sharing content wirelessly, and the myViewBoard whiteboarding software is bundled so teachers and presenters can annotate and share straight away.

Processing, memory and storage for daily use

The module uses an 8th Gen Intel Core vPro i7-8700 processor running at 3.2GHz from the Coffee Lake series, with vPro and TPM support. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory across two SO-DIMM slots, and the source data lists support for up to 32GB. Storage is a 256GB SSD that can be expanded to 512GB, installed through an M.2 interface that accepts 2242 or 2280 form factors.

Ports on the module and what they mean for your display

The module lists one DisplayPort with a maximum of 4096x2304 at 60Hz, one HDMI with a maximum of 3840x2160 at 24Hz, one RGB/VGA port, one microphone input and one earphone output. It also provides four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.1 Type C port. The 24Hz limit on HDMI is the figure to check if your presentations rely on fast-moving video, so confirm your sources and cabling before installation.
