What the NSD-430 does on a video wall

The Barco TransForm NSD-430 is a single display video wall controller packaged in a 4U, 19-inch rackmount housing. It collects video from several sources, including networked feeds and local HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, and places them on the panels of a wall in the layout operators need. Because it handles baseband and networked video in one unit, a control room does not need separate hardware for each source type.

The controller can run on its own, driven by Barco's CMS control room management software, or it can sit inside a networked TransForm N system as a display node. That flexibility lets a team start with one controller and add capacity later as the wall or the number of sources grows.

Inputs, outputs and codec support

Input capacity depends on the card configuration. The maximum set includes up to five 2-channel DisplayPort 1.2 cards supporting resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, up to five 2-channel HDMI 2.0 cards, several 4-channel HDMI 1.4 groups, and single-channel HDMI 2.0 inputs for 4K sources. HDCP support differs between these groups, so match the input mix to your content sources before ordering.

Storage uses two solid-state drives in RAID-1, offered as 2 x 480 GB or 2 x 960 GB, with the drives mirroring each other. For walls showing 3D-accelerated content or many simultaneous sources, the memory option should match the complexity of the display.
