DSCON2100-0412H
Dahua DSCON2100-0412H 1.5U Multi-Screen Video Wall Controller
The Dahua DSCON2100-0412H is a 1.5U video wall controller with 12 HDMI outputs, four HDMI inputs and splicing for up to 12 screens. It manages up to 108 windows with roaming and accepts one 4K@60 Hz input. Suited to control rooms and operations centres in Doha, Lusail and Education City that run large display walls.
What the DSCON2100-0412H does for a video wall
The Dahua DSCON2100-0412H sits between your signal sources and your display wall. It accepts HDMI signals from four inputs, processes them and distributes them to up to twelve HDMI outputs, so one 1.5U unit can drive a full panel array rather than running a separate feed to each screen. Its embedded Linux platform makes it a dedicated controller rather than a general-purpose computer, which suits a fixed installation that must run every day.
Inputs, outputs and resolution options
- Four HDMI inputs across two HDMI 2.0 and two HDMI 1.3 ports
- Three input modes: one 4K@60 Hz source, two 4K@30 Hz sources, or four 1080p@60 Hz sources
- Twelve HDMI outputs, defaulting to 1920 × 1080@60 Hz
- Custom output width and height from 128 to 3,840 pixels
- Custom EDID settings for each input port
Custom output is useful for non-standard wall geometry. For a long, narrow strip, the unit supports custom output up to 3840 × 524@60 Hz or 524 × 3840@60 Hz. Choose the input mode that matches your source mix before you finalise the wall layout, because the 4K modes trade channel count for resolution.
Window control, schemes and front-panel operation
Each screen can be split into up to nine windows, and custom M × N splits are supported where M × N is nine or fewer. Across a twelve-screen wall the unit opens up to 108 windows, and windows can roam between screens so an operator can move a feed to a larger area. Scheme and tour functions let you save layouts, cycle through them at a set interval, and run scheduled schemes at fixed times. Each screen can show a high-definition background image or a default background colour, and customised on-screen text such as location, font size and scrolling direction can be displayed.
The front panel carries an LCD knob and shortcut keys. Operators can change IP addresses, switch presets and tours, turn screens on or off, change content and view input status directly on the unit, which keeps routine changes quick during a live session.
Where it fits in Qatar
An operations room for a government authority in West Bay might run a 3 × 3 wall of nine panels, showing CCTV feeds, dashboards and live meetings at once. The window and roaming functions let staff resize and move feeds as priorities change, while scheme and tour features switch the wall between preset views for each shift.
A university media centre in Education City could use the four-input mode to show lecture capture, campus announcements and external video links together. A hotel lobby in The Pearl could use scheduled schemes to change arrival messages, event promotions and wayfinding content at set times of day, with the background settings keeping the wall visually consistent.
Planning the installation
- Size: 66 × 440 × 321 mm (H × W × D), 1.5U high
- Weight: 4.64 kg net, 7.36 kg gross
- Power: 100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 60 W maximum
- Operating range: -10 °C to +55 °C, 10% to 95% humidity, non-condensing
- Connectivity: one 10/100/1,000 Mbps Ethernet port, two RS-232 and one RS-485 port, three USB ports, one alarm input and one alarm output
The power input covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply, but confirm the power lead with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering. Summer temperatures in Doha can exceed 45 °C, so mount the unit in an air-conditioned comms room or a ventilated rack rather than a sealed or unconditioned cabinet. The 55 °C upper limit leaves little margin in such spaces.
Ask for a free site survey before installation to confirm rack space, cable routes to the displays and the controller's position relative to the wall. Quotations are usually issued within one working day. Send your wall layout, panel count and source list to the SmartRooms Qatar team and request a quote for the DSCON2100-0412H.
