DS-C80K-01HI/4K
Hikvision DS-C80K-01HI/4K 4K HDMI KVM Input Node for Video Walls
The Hikvision DS-C80K-01HI/4K is a KVM input node capturing a 4K60 HDMI 2.0 signal and carrying it over the network to video wall controllers and decoders. It samples at YUV 444, accepts PoE under 802.3at, and includes a Gigabit SFP port and a Gigabit Ethernet port. Keyboard and mouse control reaches remote hosts over the network. Suited to Qatar control rooms and boardrooms building networked video walls.
What the DS-C80K-01HI/4K does in a networked video wall
The DS-C80K-01HI/4K is a KVM input node from Hikvision's C80K series. It takes one HDMI 2.0 source at up to 4K60 and sends that signal across the network to a centralized or distributed video wall controller, a multi-functional video center or a decoder. Because the picture travels as network data rather than a long HDMI run, the source computer can sit in an equipment room while the wall is elsewhere.
The system has no central server. Each node works independently, so if one node fails the rest of the installation keeps running. Nodes can be added to extend the system, which makes this model a practical starting point for a wall that may grow later.
Picture, control and latency details that matter
- Colour sampling: YUV 444 is used for capture, transmission and processing, which keeps colour detail intact.
- Video ports: one HDMI 2.0 input and one HDMI 2.0 loop output for a local monitor.
- Keyboard latency: the shallow compression path has a minimum delay within 10 ms, so remote typing feels close to local use.
- Compression choice: a dual DSP and FPGA engine switches between shallow compression for strong networks and deep compression for average networks.
- Host support: works with Windows, Linux, Unix and Kylin hosts, and supports remote power on and power off.
- Encoding: H.265 by default, with H.264 available.
Where it fits in Qatar
A government operations room in Msheireb may keep its sources in a server room on another floor while the wall sits in the control room. The node carries the HDMI signal over a Gigabit network to the wall controller, and operators control the source computers from their desks.
A lecture theatre in Education City needs a presenter's 4K laptop displayed at full resolution on a large screen. The node captures the HDMI feed, and its 3.5 mm audio input and output carry dual-channel audio at 24-bit, 48 kHz.
An industrial site in Mesaieed or Ras Laffan that wants monitoring feeds on a central wall can use the system's alarm reporting. The node flags network disconnection, IP conflict, temperature and fan faults, and shows its status on the built-in OLED screen.
What to plan before ordering
- Rack space: each node is half-width, so two nodes match one standard rack width. The package includes a mounting bracket and a connecting bracket.
- Size and weight: 210 mm × 42 mm × 180 mm, 1.76 kg net. Magnetic mounting is optional.
- Power: 110 VAC to 240 VAC input, power consumption no more than 30 W, PoE under 802.3at, or an external supply for dual power. The 240 V range covers Qatar mains.
- Environment: working range 0 °C to 50 °C and 0% to 95% humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 °C, so mount it in a cooled, ventilated space rather than near a sun-facing window.
- Network: one Gigabit SFP optical port and one Gigabit electrical port with hot backup between them, plus unicast and multicast switching and NTP time sync.
Request a quote for your project
Tell us how many input and output nodes you need, the number of sources and screens, and whether your site runs fibre or copper. SmartRooms Qatar usually issues a quotation within one working day, and a free site survey can confirm rack space, cable routes and room conditions before installation.
