DS-C80K-01HI
Hikvision DS-C80K-01HI KVM HDMI Input Node for Video Walls
The Hikvision DS-C80K-01HI is a single-channel HDMI input node for Hikvision KVM video wall systems. It accepts one 1080p HDMI source at 60 Hz with YUV 444 sampling, and connects over a Gigabit SFP or electrical port, with PoE 802.3at support. Its OLED screen shows configuration and status. Suited to Doha control rooms, lecture theatres and command centres building a networked video wall. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar.
What the DS-C80K-01HI does in a KVM video wall
The Hikvision DS-C80K-01HI is an input node in Hikvision's KVM and distributed controller range. Each input node takes one HDMI source and sends it across an IP network to output nodes that drive a video wall or display. The system is decentralised, so there is no central server to fail. Each node operates on its own, and a single faulty node does not stop the rest of the wall.
This model is the 1080p version. It accepts one HDMI 1.4 input and handles resolutions from 1024 × 768 up to 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz, plus custom resolutions between 1280 × 720 and 1920 × 1200. Images are sampled in YUV 444, which preserves colour detail for content with fine text, such as spreadsheets, engineering drawings and CAD views.
Latency, compression and audio handling
The node uses a dual-engine design that combines DSP and FPGA signal processing, and it supports two compression modes. Shallow compression suits networks in good condition and keeps picture quality high on the wall. Deep compression is the better choice for average networks, where smooth transmission matters more than peak detail. In shallow mode the manufacturer quotes a minimum delay within 10 ms for remote keyboard signals, which matters for operators working from a distant workstation.
Audio arrives through HDMI or a separate 3.5 mm input. The audio input supports 24-bit, 48 kHz dual-channel stereo, and the 3.5 mm output lets you feed sound to a separate speaker system.
Control, compatibility and management
- Controls hosts running Windows, Linux, Unix and Kylin, with remote power on and off
- Stores 8 scenes per user by default
- Supports up to 500 users under a multi-level permission system
- Remote configuration, log retrieval, restart and firmware upgrades
- Automatic alarms for network, temperature, fan and signal faults
Ports, power and rack planning
Each node has one Gigabit SFP optical port and one Gigabit Ethernet port, with hot backup between the two. Three USB 2.0 ports, a console port, RS-232, RS-485, IO/IR and relay Phoenix terminals, and a 3.3 V IR power output connect peripherals and room equipment. The 128 × 64 OLED screen shows configuration and running status on the unit itself.
Power comes from a 110 to 240 VAC supply rated at 0.7 A, or from 802.3at PoE, with consumption of 30 W or less. The rated working temperature is 0 °C to 50 °C, and humidity is 0% to 95%. Each unit weighs 1.27 kg net and measures 210 mm × 42 mm × 180 mm. Two half-width nodes fill the width of one standard rack, which keeps dense AV racks manageable.
Where it fits in Qatar
In an operations centre in Doha, one operator can route several workstation feeds to different zones of a video wall from a single keyboard and mouse. In a university in Education City, lecture hall sources can be linked to a shared display wall over the campus network, with the rack housed in an air-conditioned comms room. For a government office in Msheireb, the remote power and logging features let the IT team manage screens across several floors without visiting each room.
Planning before you order
Confirm source resolutions first. If any input is 4K, this 1080p node is not the right fit. Then measure the rack space, check cabinet airflow against the 50 °C limit, and decide whether each node will run on PoE or its external supply. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys, which are worth booking before wall or rack work, especially where summer heat or long cable runs are a concern.
To request a quote, send SmartRooms Qatar the number of nodes, the source types and resolutions, the output displays and the rack locations. Quotations are usually issued within one working day. We supply against purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat. Request a quote for the DS-C80K-01HI today.
