LG 86TR3BF (Discontinued) · Replacements in Qatar

Name: LG 86TR3BF 86-inch UHD Interactive Digital Board
Brand: LG
SKU: lg-86tr3bf
Availability: Discontinued

Overview

The LG 86TR3BF is an 86-inch UHD interactive digital board with a 330 cd/m2 IPS panel, 20-point multi-touch, 10-point writing and a built-in OPS slot for a plug-in computer. LG has discontinued this model, so it suits organisations that already own it or need a like-for-like replacement. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or compatible replacement for classrooms, lecture halls and boardrooms across Qatar.

An 86-inch touch board built around writing and sharing

The LG 86TR3BF is an 86-inch interactive digital board from the CreateBoard TR3BF series. It pairs a UHD IPS panel with infrared touch, a built-in 24W speaker pair and an Android-based system, so teachers and presenters can write, annotate and share directly on the screen. LG has discontinued this model, which makes this page most relevant to organisations that already run it and to buyers comparing it with a current replacement.

Touch, writing and palm erasing on a 330 cd/m2 panel

The panel is rated at 330 cd/m2 with a 1,100:1 contrast ratio and a native resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, four times the pixel count of Full HD. A 4T anti-glare protection glass with 87% light transmission covers the screen. The touch layer recognises up to 20 simultaneous touch points and 10 writing points, detects objects from 3 mm, and is specified at 1.5 mm accuracy.

Palm erasing removes text and drawings with the hand, which feels closer to wiping a real whiteboard.
Two writing pens are included, so two people can write at the same time.
Touch response is listed at 60 ms on Android and 100 ms on Windows.

Running the board in Qatar: OPS, Android and Air Class

The board has an OPS slot and is listed as OPS type compatible, so a plug-in computer can sit behind the panel instead of a separate desktop connected by cable. Without a computer, the Android system includes a Chrome browser and note applications for web research and whiteboard work. Air Class lets up to 30 students join the same session from mobile devices on one network for voting, answers and project text, and laptops or phones can share their screens to the display.

Where the 86TR3BF suits Qatar

An 86-inch format fits a lecture hall, a large boardroom or a training room. At a secondary school in Al Rayyan, it can serve as the teaching surface for science or maths lessons, with students connecting through Air Class. A consulting office in West Bay might use it for workshops where several people annotate one document together. A logistics firm in the Industrial Area could install one in its meeting room to review plans and shared files with visitors.

Planning for weight, power and a hot-climate room

The monitor weighs 67 kg and 109 kg packed, so plan lifting equipment and wall loading.
Dimensions are 1,957 x 1,160 x 86 mm; the carton measures 2,230 x 1,499 x 285 mm.
Power input is rated 100-240V, 50/60Hz, drawing 365 W typical and 419 W maximum.
Operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C with 10% to 80% humidity.

Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 °C, so install the board in an air-conditioned room away from direct sunlight and dust-laden entrances, and confirm the room conditions with the SmartRooms Qatar team before fixing. SmartRooms Qatar also offers a free site survey to check wall structure and cable routes before installation.

Because this model is discontinued, we can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement. Request a quote with your room size, the number of units and whether you need Air Class, and our team will reply with options, usually within one working day.

Questions about 86TR3BF

Is the LG 86TR3BF still available from LG?

No. LG has discontinued the 86TR3BF, so it is no longer part of the manufacturer's current range. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement, matched to your software needs, mounting arrangement and connection requirements. Send us the model code and the number of units you need, and our team will reply with options.

Is the 86TR3BF suitable for a lecture hall or large boardroom in Doha?

Yes. The 86-inch panel suits large rooms where everyone must read slides or documents from their seats. Its 3,840 x 2,160 UHD resolution keeps small text sharp, and the IPS panel is rated at 178 x 178 degrees viewing angle. For a lecture hall in West Bay or Education City, request a site survey before choosing the wall position, since the panel weighs 67 kg.

How many people can write on the board at the same time?

The board supports up to 20 simultaneous touch points and 10 writing points, and two writing pens are included. It detects objects from 3 mm and is specified at 1.5 mm accuracy. In a meeting with several presenters, more than one person can annotate the same document without waiting for a turn, and palm erasing lets anyone remove writing with their hand.

Do I need a separate computer to run the board?

Not for basic use. The board runs Android with a built-in Chrome browser and note apps, so you can search the web and annotate without a computer. For Windows software, a computer can be fitted in the built-in OPS slot at the back of the panel, since the board is listed as OPS type compatible. That avoids a separate desktop connected by cable.

Which operating systems work with the touch function?

The specification lists Windows 7, 8 and 10, Android, Linux and Mac. Full multi-touch is listed for Windows 7, 8, 10 and Android, while Windows XP, Linux and Mac are listed for single-point touch only. Check the operating system on your laptops or mini PCs before ordering, and confirm how your Windows software will be fed to the board.

Can the board run on Qatar's 240 V mains supply?

Yes. The power supply is rated 100-240V, 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains. The board draws 365 W typical and 419 W maximum, and it has a built-in power supply with a 3 m power cord included. Plan a socket near the mounting point, and have your electrician confirm the circuit capacity before installation day.

Is it suitable for a west-facing room in Doha that gets hot in summer?

Only with air conditioning and protection from direct sun. The stated operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C with 10% to 80% humidity, and summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 °C. Avoid placing the board where afternoon sun hits the screen or where dust enters through an open entrance. Confirm the room conditions with the SmartRooms Qatar team before choosing the installation position.

What should a logistics firm in the Industrial Area plan before installing one in a meeting room?

Plan for weight and size first. The monitor measures 1,957 x 1,160 x 86 mm and weighs 67 kg, and the packed weight is 109 kg in a 2,230 x 1,499 x 285 mm carton. The VESA interface is 800 x 600, and the wall or stand must be rated for the load. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey so the wall and cable routes are checked before delivery.

Does Air Class work for a training centre in Doha with a room of 30 trainees?

Air Class supports connecting up to 30 students on the same network from their mobile devices. It offers voting, answering and sharing of project text, so trainees can respond from their seats. The trainer can also share a laptop screen to the board. Confirm the network arrangement for your room with the SmartRooms Qatar team, because the setup depends on your building.

What connections does the board offer?

It has three HDMI inputs and one HDMI output, an RGB and audio input, RS232C and RJ45 external control, and three USB 3.0 ports. It also has three USB 2.0 ports, two on the front and one underneath for software updates. Two Touch Out ports use USB 2.0 type B, and there is an optical and audio output. Confirm the sources you need before ordering.

What comes in the box?

The board includes a 3 m power cord, a 5 m USB cable (Type A to Type B), a 3 m HDMI cable, two writing pens, a user manual, a quick setup guide, a carton box and a remote control. The specification does not list a wall mount or an OPS computer, so include those in your quotation if you need them.

Can a school in Al Rayyan buy several units on a purchase order?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts LPOs and government tenders, including Monaqasat, and accepts payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Because this model is discontinued, request a quote for a current equivalent or compatible replacement, and send the number of units and classroom sizes. Delivery covers all eight municipalities of Qatar, and professional installation can be included.
