What the InfinityBoard 2.0 combines in one unit

The NEC 75-inch InfinityBoard 2.0 is an all-in-one collaboration display. It brings a 75-inch 4K touch panel, a Huddly GO camera, 40 W conference speakers and a slot-in Windows PC into a single enclosure, so a meeting room needs one unit to mount, cable and maintain instead of four separate products. NEC has discontinued this model, which shapes the buying decision explained at the end of this page.

The panel measures 1,944.6 x 1,003 x 86 mm without its stand and weighs 80.3 kg. Its active screen area is 1,649.7 x 927.9 mm, with an 18.8 mm bezel on every side. At that weight, wall fixing should be carried out by a qualified installer using the 400 x 400 mm or 600 x 400 mm VESA pattern with M8 holes, and a free site survey before drilling is sensible in any new fit-out.

Display and touch performance for group work

The IPS panel has a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a typical contrast ratio of 1200:1. Brightness is rated at 500 cd/m², with the shipment setting at 350 cd/m². The 178 degree viewing angle keeps content readable for people seated at the far end of a long table, and the 10-bit colour depth supports 1.073 billion colours.

Touch uses InGlass technology with up to 20 simultaneous touches, a response time of 15 ms or less and accuracy below 1 mm. Fingers, gloves and styluses with a tip of at least 2 mm all work. The 3 mm toughened front glass has an anti-glare coating and transmits 88% of light, which helps where window glare is a problem. Two styluses ship with the unit.

Video conferencing, audio and the built-in PC

The Huddly GO camera offers a 150 degree diagonal field of view, outputs 720p at 30 fps and provides 3x lossless digital zoom. It installs without drivers. The conference speakers accept 40 W input, have an 8 ohm rated impedance and cover 70 Hz to 15 kHz.

The slot-in PC runs an Intel Core i7 processor with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, a 128 GB SSD and Windows 10 Professional. It plugs into the OPS slot, which keeps the computer inside the display and reduces cabling and installation work. A separate Compute Module 3 slot accepts NEC or Raspberry Pi Compute Module 1 and 3 options. Wi-Fi is dual-band 802.11ac with Bluetooth 4.2, and the PC includes a TPM security chip.

Where it fits in Qatar

A ministry or authority office in Doha running hybrid meetings with colleagues in other cities or abroad can use the camera, speakers and built-in PC without bringing a laptop into the room. The 75-inch touch surface lets the room review documents together while remote participants join by camera.

An engineering or energy company in the Industrial Area or Mesaieed can use the touch surface to review drawings and schedules, with several people writing on the display at once. The anti-glare front glass helps in rooms with large glazed walls.

A training centre or seminar room in Education City can use the built-in camera and speakers when lectures are streamed to a group elsewhere, while the lecturer annotates directly on the screen with a stylus.

Planning for heat, power and mounting

• Operating temperature is 0 to +35 °C at 20 to 80% humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 °C outdoors, so the room must be air-conditioned and kept within that range.
• The front is rated IP5x for dust protection and the back IP2x, so keep the unit away from unconditioned, dusty areas.
• Power consumption is 167 W in the shipping configuration, and power savings mode draws less than 0.5 W.
• Trolley options PD02MHM, PD02MHA and PD03MHA, and wall mounts BalanceBox400-2-XL and PDW T XL-2, are listed as accessories.
• The warranty covers three years including the backlight, with optional fourth and fifth year extensions.

NEC has discontinued the 75-inch InfinityBoard 2.0.
