What the Hisense 65SOF25PT is and why it is discontinued

The Hisense 65SOF25PT is a 65-inch UHD display from the fan-cooled SOF25PT outdoor series, designed for a freestanding kiosk or totem installation with a portrait screen. Hisense has discontinued this model and lists it under end-of-life products, so buyers should not expect the original unit as a current line item. Organisations that already run this display, and buyers comparing it with newer outdoor models, can request a quote for a current equivalent or a compatible replacement.

Readable in bright Qatari daylight

The screen is rated at 2500 nits, which is the figure that matters for outdoor visibility at a building entrance, a forecourt or a roadside point of sale. A light sensor adjusts brightness automatically as conditions change, so the panel does not stay at full output after dusk. The 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles keep the picture readable from the side, while the 3840 x 2160 resolution and 8ms response time keep video and motion graphics sharp. The backlight is rated for 50,000 hours, which matters for a unit running 24/7.

An enclosure built for dust, water and heat

The IP55 enclosure protects internal components from dust and water jets, and the front glass is 6.8 mm anti-reflective, tempered and laminated. A built-in airflow fan and overheating protection manage internal temperature. The rated ambient operating range is -20°C to 45°C, with humidity from 5% to 100%. Qatar summer afternoons regularly push past 45°C, so the unit should sit in shade or under a canopy, and the exact site should be checked against that figure before ordering. The SmartRooms Qatar team can review the location with you during a free site survey.

Connectivity, software and control

The unit runs Android 7.1 on a quad-core Amlogic processor with 2G DDR4 memory and 16G eMMC storage, expandable with a memory card of up to 128G. Inputs include two HDMI IN ports, one USB 2.0, one LAN port, a TF card slot and an RS232 port for control. Outputs are one HDMI OUT and one AV OUT. Networking is Wi-Fi or LAN, with optional 3G or 4G, and a built-in speaker is fitted. The system language is listed as Chinese or English, so confirm language support for your content before ordering.

Where it fits in Qatar and what to plan for

Three scenarios suit this format. A shopping mall forecourt in Lusail can use it for wayfinding and promotions that run after dark. A hotel entrance in West Bay can show arrival information under a covered porch. A university walkway in Education City can carry campus announcements. Each site needs a structural check: the unit stands 2150 mm tall and weighs 186 kg, so the base or wall fixing and the delivery route need planning in advance. The power input is listed as 110/220V, 50/60Hz with a maximum draw of 650W, so confirm the supply arrangement for Qatar's 240V mains before placing the order.

Send SmartRooms Qatar your site address, mounting type and number of units, and we will return a quotation for a current equivalent, usually within one working day. Professional installation is available, and we accept purchase orders and government tenders.
