What the DC20 is and how it connects

The DC20 is a full-range coaxial ceiling speaker built for Dante audio-over-IP networks. Each unit carries its own power amplifier and digital signal processing module, so a room does not need a separate amplifier rack. Audio arrives on a single RJ45 input, and the same Ethernet cable can supply power because the DC20 is compatible with PoE standards 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt.

Driver design and coverage

A 6.5-inch polypropylene composite cone woofer handles the low and mid range, while a 1-inch silk dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet covers the top end. Both drivers sit within one coaxial housing. The tweeter rotates through 360 degrees, so an installer can point high frequencies toward the seating area. Rated coverage is 120 degrees horizontally and 120 degrees vertically, measured at 1 kHz at the -6 dB point. Frequency response is 65 Hz to 20 kHz within ±3 dB.

Before ordering, confirm the ceiling void depth and the cut-out with your installer, because the 197 mm mounting depth must clear the ceiling structure. The datasheet lists flush-mount and suspended options, so the mounting method can be chosen to suit the ceiling. Check that your PoE switch can supply the power budget for the number of units on each switch. The package includes a safety cable.
