Overview

The Desono C-IC6 white is a 6.5-inch, two-way passive in-ceiling loudspeaker tuned for speech in conference rooms. It mounts from below the ceiling with a magnetic grille, and accepts CAT cable or speaker wire. Rated 60W continuous and 240W peak, with 130° dispersion, it suits boardrooms, training rooms and meeting spaces in Doha and Lusail. Sold in pairs, with a 5-year warranty.

The Desono C-IC6 white is an in-ceiling loudspeaker for indoor conference spaces where speech clarity matters more than music playback. It is a passive two-way coaxial design: a 1-inch soft dome tweeter sits within a 6.5-inch treated paper woofer, and it needs an external amplifier to run. Each unit has an RAL 9016 white finish and is sold in pairs, so plan quantities per room with your quotation.

Speech coverage for rooms with low ceilings

The C-IC6 covers 60 Hz to 20 kHz, with nominal sensitivity of 87 dB at 1 m and a maximum output of 105 dB at 1 m. Its 130° conical dispersion is suited to low ceilings, where a wide, even pattern matters more than a narrow beam. The woofer and tweeter are mechanically independent of each other, which supports clear voice reproduction for participants around a table.

Wiring, amplifiers and daisy chaining

The loudspeaker accepts audio over standard CAT cable or traditional speaker cable, so the wiring method can follow the building's existing infrastructure. Its 8Ω nominal impedance allows daisy chaining. For a simpler build, it is designed to work with the Tesira AMP-450BP, a four-channel PoE+ backpack amplifier sold separately, which reduces wiring and installation time. Power handling is 60W continuous with 240W peak.

Where the C-IC6 fits in Qatar

In a boardroom in West Bay or Msheireb, a pair of ceiling-mounted C-IC6 units keeps the table clear of speaker boxes while remote participants on a call hear the room clearly. The model is listed as Microsoft Teams Certified and Zoom Certified, which matters for ministries and corporate headquarters running hybrid meetings across Doha.

A school in Al Rayyan fitting out a staff meeting room, or a training centre in Education City with lower ceilings, will benefit from a unit that sits flush with the tiles. The product is rated for indoor use only, so lobbies with large glazing, or spaces exposed to Qatar's summer heat above 45°C, should be checked with the SmartRooms Qatar team before specifying.

Planning the installation

Check the void above the ceiling tile: the unit is 5.9 inches (150 mm) deep, so allow at least that space plus cable slack.
Allow for the 10.9-inch (277 mm) diameter of each unit and a weight of 7.8 lbs (3.5 kg).
Decide early between CAT cabling and speaker wire, and whether an AMP-450BP backpack will drive the pairs.
Book a free site survey so the installer can confirm ceiling type, cable routes and room layout before ordering.

Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar with your room sizes, ceiling type and number of rooms. Quotations usually arrive within one working day, and we will confirm pair quantities, cabling and amplifier options for your installation.

Questions about Desono C-IC6

What is the Desono C-IC6 white loudspeaker designed for?

It is a passive in-ceiling loudspeaker built for speech in indoor conference spaces, such as boardrooms, training rooms and meeting rooms. Its 6.5-inch woofer and 1-inch soft dome tweeter cover 60 Hz to 20 kHz, aimed at voice rather than background music. It suits Doha offices where staff and remote colleagues join the same call, because the audio comes from the ceiling instead of desktop speaker boxes.

How is the white model different from the black and red versions?

The white model is item 920-00925-20000, finished in RAL 9016 white. The black version uses RAL 9017 and the red version RAL 3028, and all three share the same drivers, 130° dispersion and 60W continuous rating. Choose white when the ceiling tiles, walls or grille should blend into a light interior, such as a boardroom with pale walls or a classroom with calm colours.

Does the C-IC6 connect with CAT cable or speaker wire?

It supports both standard CAT cable and traditional speaker cable, so you can follow the cabling method already planned for the building. The loudspeaker is designed to integrate with the Tesira AMP-450BP, a four-channel PoE+ backpack amplifier sold separately, which reduces wiring and installation time. Ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm the cable route for your room before the order is placed.

Can I daisy-chain several C-IC6 speakers, and what power do they need?

The 8Ω nominal impedance allows daisy chaining, so several units can share one amplifier output. Each unit is rated 60W continuous and 240W peak, with nominal sensitivity of 87 dB at 1 m and maximum output of 105 dB at 1 m. Add up the load of all speakers on each output before choosing the amplifier, and have SmartRooms Qatar confirm the match with your chosen amplifier.

How much ceiling space does the unit need?

Each unit is 5.9 inches (150 mm) deep, 10.9 inches (277 mm) in diameter and weighs 7.8 lbs (3.5 kg). Check the void above the tile before ordering, and allow extra room for cable slack and the amplifier connection. The C-IC6 is mounted from below the ceiling, so a free site survey is worth booking in older Doha buildings where the void depth is unknown.

Will it suit a boardroom in West Bay that runs Teams and Zoom calls?

Yes, this model is listed as Microsoft Teams Certified and Zoom Certified. Mounted in the ceiling as a pair, it keeps the table clear of speaker boxes while remote participants hear voices from the room clearly. The 130° dispersion suits rooms with low ceilings and a central table, so a pair placed evenly above the table is a sensible starting layout to confirm during the site survey.

Is it right for a staff meeting room in a school in Al Rayyan?

A school fitting out a staff room with a lower ceiling benefits from a unit that sits flush with the tiles rather than a wall-mounted box. The 6.5-inch driver and 60W continuous rating can serve a medium-sized meeting room, and the white finish suits most school ceilings. Request a quote with the room dimensions, because the number of pairs depends on the room shape and the amplifier used.

Can it be specified for a government meeting room in Msheireb?

Government meeting rooms often need certified equipment and a documented purchase route. The product data lists UL1480A, UL2043, CSA 22.2#62368-1, NFPA70 and NFPA90 compliance, and SmartRooms Qatar supplies against purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat. Review the certification list against your procurement requirements before approving the quotation.

Would it suit a seminar room at Education City?

A pair of ceiling loudspeakers in a seminar room at Education City can carry speech clearly to students in any seat. The 60 Hz to 20 kHz range and 87 dB nominal sensitivity support normal speech levels in rooms of moderate size. Larger lecture halls may need a different loudspeaker type, so check the room size and seating layout before settling on the quantity.

Can it be used in a glazed lobby or outdoors in summer?

The product data lists the operating environment as indoor only, so do not specify the C-IC6 for outdoor or semi-outdoor areas. Doha summer temperatures can exceed 45°C, and a lobby with large glazing or strong sun exposure should be reviewed first. The data does not give an operating temperature range, so the SmartRooms Qatar team will advise on the environment before you approve the quotation.

Which certifications and platforms does it list?

The C-IC6 is listed as Microsoft Teams Certified and Zoom Certified, and the white model also carries the Cisco Verified label. Its compliance list includes UL1480A, UL2043, CSA 22.2#62368-1, NFPA70 and NFPA90. For a Teams or Zoom room, pair the loudspeakers with a compatible conferencing system and confirm the final setup during the site survey.

Is it sold as a single unit, and what is the warranty and quote process?

The product is sold in pairs, so state the quantity needed for each room, such as one pair per meeting room. The product carries a 5-year warranty. Request a quote with room details and quantities; quotations usually arrive within one working day, and we accept purchase orders (LPOs), bank transfer, cheque or purchase order payment.
