The Desono C-IC6LP-W is a 6.5-inch, two-way ceiling loudspeaker with a white grille that blends into light ceilings. It is designed for rooms where speech clarity matters most, such as boardrooms, training rooms, huddle spaces and seminar rooms. Its 101 mm (3.96-inch) depth is the main reason to choose it, because it fits shallow ceiling voids where many deeper units will not sit.

Driver design, coverage and output

The loudspeaker uses a coaxial arrangement. A 165 mm treated paper cone handles the low frequencies, and a 25 mm treated soft dome driver with a waveguide handles the highs, with the crossover set at 2.5 kHz. Biamp rates the nominal beamwidth at 140 degrees, conical, and the operating range (-10 dB) at 63 Hz to 20 kHz. This wide, even dispersion keeps the speech level similar for someone at the head of the table and someone near the back wall.

Sensitivity is 87 dB at 1 W and 8 ohms. The nominal maximum SPL is 109 dB peak and 103 dB continuous. The passive rating is 60 W at 8 ohms, and the recommended amplifier range is 60 W to 120 W into 8 ohms, corresponding to 22 V to 31 V.

Installation planning before you order

Mounting uses three SpringLock clamps with a 33 mm (1.3-inch) grip range. The bezel measures 341 mm across and the cut-out is 310 mm, so check the cut-out size against your ceiling tiles and grid. The package includes a C-ring supporting plate, tile support bridge rails, grilles, paint masks, a cut-out template and wire strain-relief fittings. The input cover includes conduit knock-outs suited to Chicago plenum air space rules, and the product is listed as suitable for air handling spaces under NFPA 70 and NFPA 90.

Two requirements need planning. The loudspeaker needs a 65 Hz, 18 dB/octave high-pass filter and a DSP preset for ALC or Tesira. You also need an amplifier in the 60 W to 120 W passive range, or the Tesira AMP-450BP four-channel PoE+ backpack amplifier, which is sold separately and reduces wiring and installation time.
