MRB-VBC 2500a-TSC2IP-Z

What the bundle is and what it contains

The Biamp MRB-VBC 2500a-TSC2IP-Z is a discontinued meeting room bundle for small and medium rooms. It combines two units: the Parlé VBC 2500a, an all-in-one conferencing bar, and the Apprimo Touch 8i IP control panel. Biamp supplies both as one pre-engineered package, so a room is specified as a set rather than assembled from separate microphones, speakers, cameras and controllers.

The conferencing bar is the centre of the system. Beamtracking microphones capture voices across the room, an integrated loudspeaker plays the far end of the call, and an intelligent camera frames the people taking part. The touch panel lets people in the room start and run a meeting from a single interface.

Zoom Rooms support and BYOM connectivity

The bundle is engineered to support Zoom Rooms, the room-based version of Zoom's platform. It keeps BYOM (bring your own meeting) functionality through direct USB connectivity, so the room is not tied to one fixed computer. Organisations that already run Zoom meetings can keep their platform while standardising the hardware in each room.

Because the bar brings microphones, loudspeaker and camera into one unit, the number of devices to place, cable and configure in each room is reduced. The manufacturer describes the touch-based control as needing minimal user training, which matters in shared rooms where few people operate AV equipment every day.

Where it fits in Qatar

• Ministries and authorities in Msheireb or Doha: a standard set-up for several meeting rooms on different floors, so staff move between rooms without relearning the panel.
• Private schools in Al Rayyan or Education City: staff and department meeting rooms where teachers and administrators need clear calls with colleagues and partners.
• Developers and sales teams in Lusail or West Bay: a small client room for presentations and calls with overseas colleagues, using one bar for both the local room and the remote call.

What to plan before ordering

Start with the room. Measure the space and note the seating, the position of the screen and the walls where the bar and panel could go. Because this model is discontinued, the quotation from SmartRooms Qatar should name the current replacement, which the manufacturer lists as the MRB-VBC 2500a-TSC2DIP-Z, and confirm that it suits your room plan.

Plan the environment as well. The source data does not give an operating temperature range for this bundle, so the team will confirm room conditions with you before you order. Rooms in Doha with large west-facing windows may need blinds or a different bar position to keep the camera image clear and the room comfortable. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar covers these points, along with cable routes for professional installation.

• Confirm the laptop and software arrangement for BYOM use before ordering.
• Check the room size against the bundle's small and medium room focus.
• Note the 5-year manufacturer warranty and TAA compliance for procurement documents.
