What the TesiraFORTÉ CI does in a conference room
The Biamp TesiraFORTÉ CI is a conferencing digital signal processor with a fixed set of connections: 12 microphone/line inputs and 8 mic/line outputs. Acoustic Echo Cancellation runs on all 12 inputs, so the processor removes echo and room reflections before audio reaches remote participants. In rooms with hard walls, glass and ceiling microphones, that is the difference between speech people can follow and speech they have to repeat.
Configuration is done in Tesira software, where you set routing, mixing, equalisation, filtering, dynamics and delay for each channel. The result is a tuned system rather than a box that passes audio straight through.
