Well suited to security control rooms in Doha, Lusail and industrial sites that monitor many feeds at once. Request a quote from our team.

A 2U decoder built for multi-screen monitoring

The DS-6920UDI-U(D) is a 2U video decoder that takes network video from cameras, NVRs, DVRs and XVRs and shows it across a wall of up to 20 HDMI-connected screens. Instead of wiring each display to its own player, operators manage the whole wall from one chassis, using a PC client or a web browser. It is aimed at small to medium surveillance installations where a control room needs many live feeds on screen at once.

Output density and LED wall support

Each unit provides 20 HDMI 1.4 outputs, with a maximum output resolution of 4K at 30 Hz. The figures that matter most when planning are:

  • 20 outputs: one chassis drives up to 20 displays.
  • 2.6 MP per port: the maximum LED load on each output, with widths from 144 to 3,840 pixels and heights from 144 to 2,160 pixels.
  • Window division: each output can split into 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16, 25 or 36 windows, arranged in rows and columns you configure.

Map each output to a physical panel or LED section before ordering, because the per-port load figure sets how much picture a single output can carry.

Decoding capacity, scenes and live view

Decoding capacity is the limit that matters most for camera-heavy sites. The unit decodes up to 360 channels across the system, with 180 channels at 1080p and 30 fps, or 360 channels at 720p and 30 fps. The capability table lists mixed combinations, such as 10 channels of 32 MP, 40 channels of 8 MP or 90 channels of 4 MP, so the camera mix should be checked against these figures.

Up to 128 saved scenes can each carry a custom wall layout, with automatic switching every 3 seconds. Live view supports 4 channels on the wall, each video wall can carry up to 4 subtitles, and the system supports 9 subtitles in total. Up to 4 JPG or JPEG background images can be loaded.

Where it fits in Qatar

  • Security operations room: a facilities team in Doha or Lusail can show entrance, car park and perimeter cameras on one wall, with scenes switching by shift or by zone.
  • Industrial site control room: an energy or industrial company in Mesaieed or Ras Laffan can watch access points and yards from a central room.
  • Transport and airport operations: a team near Hamad International Airport can build a multi-zone wall that combines camera feeds with on-screen labels.

Planning the installation

The chassis measures 442 mm wide, 88.1 mm high and 385 mm deep, and weighs 8.27 kg net. It draws 200 W and accepts 100 to 240 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, a range that covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. The source data gives a working humidity range of 10% to 90% RH without condensation but does not state an operating temperature range, so confirm the room's cooling and ventilation with SmartRooms Qatar before installation, particularly in spaces that reach above 45°C in summer. A free site survey lets our team check the mounting space, cable routes to the display wall and the power arrangement before anything is fitted.

To connect the wall, use the HDMI outputs, the 10 Gigabit SFP+ port or the two 1000 Mbps Ethernet ports for the network, and plan audio routing through the HDMI embedded audio inputs and four audio outputs.

You can save up to 128 scenes with custom layouts and set an automatic switching delay of 3 seconds. Each output can be divided into 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16, 25 or 36 windows, which lets a security room rotate between zone views.
Can live view and subtitles be shown on the wall?
Yes. Video wall live view supports 4 channels, and each video wall can carry up to 4 subtitles, with 9 across the system. Subtitles are useful for labelling camera zones or sites on a monitoring wall. Up to 4 background images in JPG or JPEG format can also be loaded to frame the layout.
How much space and power does the decoder need?
It is a 2U unit measuring 442 mm wide, 88.1 mm high and 385 mm deep, with a net weight of 8.27 kg. It draws 200 W and accepts 100 to 240 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. The package includes an AC power cord and grounding cable, so confirm the socket arrangement during the site survey.
Can it be installed in an air-conditioned control room in Doha?
The source data gives a working humidity range of 10% to 90% RH with no condensation, but it does not state an operating temperature range. Confirm the room's temperature and ventilation with SmartRooms Qatar before installation, especially in summer when Doha rooms can exceed 45°C without proper cooling. Do not assume the room is suitable until that check is complete.
What is the next step to get a quote for a control room in Lusail?
Request a quote with your screen count, resolutions, camera types and a rough room layout. SmartRooms Qatar usually responds within one working day. We supply, deliver to all eight municipalities, install professionally and offer a free site survey, and we accept purchase orders and government tenders, including Monaqasat.
Is this decoder suitable for an operations room near Hamad International Airport?
Operations rooms in this area often monitor many entrances, car parks and access routes at once. The 20 outputs and 360-channel system capacity can cover a large monitoring wall, with scenes that change between zones. Before ordering, define the camera mix and wall layout, then book a free site survey to confirm space, cabling and power.
