What the LG 49VH7C is

The LG 49VH7C is a 49-inch LCD panel from the VH7C series, designed to be tiled with other panels into a single video wall. LG has discontinued this model, so this page is written for organisations in Qatar that already run it, for buyers comparing it with newer walls, and for anyone who needs a replacement that matches an existing installation.

Each unit offers Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 and a typical brightness of 700 cd/m². Its narrow frame keeps the joins between panels nearly invisible, which matters most for large content such as floor plans, dashboards and video that crosses several screens.

Bezel, brightness and picture consistency

The bezel measures 0.9mm on the top, bottom, left and right, so two neighbouring panels sit 1.8mm apart. Across a wall of several units, that narrow join keeps a single image readable without distracting dark lines.

LG's LED backlight is designed to keep brightness even across the screen. Video Wall Image Creation adjusts colour and brightness differences between panels so the whole array keeps a consistent white balance. The image gap reduction algorithm also adjusts content that sits on the bezel boundary, and LG states that picture quality holds in stacks of more than four units.

Playback, control and connections

A built-in quad-core SoC plays video content directly on each panel, so a wall does not usually need an external media player for typical content. Tiles stay in sync without lag, and the panels run LG's webOS 2.0 platform with an SDK and technical support for content development. Software compatibility is listed for SuperSign-w lite and SuperSign-c.

• Inputs: HDMI, DP, DVI-D, OPS, audio, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and RGB
• Outputs: DP and audio
• Control: RS232C, RJ45 LAN, IR receiver and eight control buttons
• Optional media: OPS kit (KT-OPSA), MP500 or MP700 external media player, HDBaseT option (EB-B100)

The RJ45 LAN connection supports a LAN daisy chain, which sends commands to every screen in a wall, monitors them and updates firmware from one point. Marked in and out ports help prevent miswiring a daisy chain.

Where it fits in Qatar

A government operations room in Doha might use a 2 x 2 array to show live dashboards side by side. Two panels across and two high make a wall about 2.15 metres wide and 1.21 metres high before the 1.8mm joins, a practical size for a room where staff view the wall from a short distance.

A university in Education City could build a wall for a research laboratory or a student services hall, where one source feeds several screens and a central team controls them over the network. A hotel or serviced apartment in West Bay or The Pearl could place a wall in an indoor lobby or business centre, where air conditioning keeps the room within the panel's operating range.

What to plan before ordering

Each panel weighs 17.5 kg and measures 1,075.6 x 605.8 x 86.2 mm, with a VESA mounting interface of 600 x 400 mm. Plan the wall structure, brackets and cable routing before delivery. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys, which are worth booking before mounting a multi-panel array on a wall that must carry its weight.

Operating temperature is 0°C to 40°C with humidity from 10% to 80%. Summer temperatures in Qatar often exceed 45°C, so place the wall in an air-conditioned indoor room away from direct sun through glass, and confirm cooling capacity with the team before installation. The built-in power supply accepts 100-240V at 50/60Hz. The basic package includes a power cable, DP cable, RS-232C cable, LAN cable, IR receiver, guide bracket and screws. Optional wall mounts are the WM-L640V for landscape and the WM-P640V for portrait.

The panel carries UL, cUL, CB, TUV and KC safety approvals, FCC Class A, CE and KC EMC approvals, and is listed as Energy Star 7.0. These details help when preparing tender documentation.

Because this model is discontinued, the fastest route to a matching wall is a quote. Send SmartRooms Qatar the number of panels, your existing bezel and mounting details and the room type, and request a quote for a current equivalent or compatible replacement.
