Overview
The LG 55EJ5G is a 55-inch flat OLED signage panel from the EJ5 series, built to sit close to a wall with a 4.9 mm thin head and a separate signage box. Its 1920 x 1080 OLED panel runs at 120 Hz with 150,000:1 contrast. The manufacturer has discontinued this model, so SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or compatible replacement for lobbies and retail walls across Qatar.
A flat OLED panel that sits close to the wall
The LG 55EJ5G is a 55-inch OLED signage panel from the EJ5 series, designed for installations where the screen should read as part of the interior rather than a mounted box. The panel head is only 4.9 mm deep, while the electronics sit in a separate signage box measuring 782.8 x 238.4 x 34.7 mm, so facilities teams can place the controller away from the screen. The manufacturer lists some dimensions and weights as to be confirmed, so SmartRooms Qatar will verify final figures against your site before installation.
Picture performance for lobbies and feature walls
Every pixel in an OLED panel produces its own light, so dark areas stay dark and the panel is rated at 150,000:1 contrast. The 1920 x 1080 Full HD panel runs at a 120 Hz refresh rate and processes 10-bit colour, covering 1.07 billion colours with a BT709 colour gamut rated at 120 percent. Brightness is listed at 150 nits at full-field white and 400 nits at 25 percent average picture level, so the room lighting should be reviewed before choosing a position. The viewing angle is rated at 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically.
Connections, control and tiling several units
The panel has one HDMI input with HDCP 1.4, one DisplayPort input with HDCP 1.3, a DisplayPort output, two USB 2.0 Type A ports and an audio output. Control runs through RS-232C in and out, an external IR receiver and LAN ports, so a single network can manage a row of screens.
- Tile mode and gapless playback for video walls
- LAN daisy chain for monitoring and firmware updates
- Local content scheduling and group management with 16GB memory
- SNMP, status mailing and Wake on LAN for IT teams
- HDMI-CEC and Crestron integration listed among supported features
Where it fits in Qatar
A hotel in West Bay could place one panel behind the reception desk to show arrival information and a brand film, with the signage box kept in a ceiling void or ventilated cabinet. A shopping centre in Lusail could tile several units into a feature wall where a narrow frame matters. A government office in Msheireb could use a panel in its public waiting area to show service information in Arabic and English, since the on-screen menu includes Arabic.
What to plan before you order
- The operating range is 0 to 40 °C at 10 to 80 percent humidity, so confirm that the room is air-conditioned, especially with summer temperatures in Qatar that can exceed 45 °C.
- The listed operation rating is 18 hours a day for moving content only, so static menus need a different plan.
- Typical draw is 309 W and maximum 318 W, around 1054 BTU per hour typical, which matters for cooling calculations.
- The power input is listed at 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply.
- Four wall fixers, 1600 mm flat cables and a site survey help plan a clean installation.
Because the manufacturer has discontinued this model, request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar to check availability of the 55EJ5G or a compatible replacement. We will confirm the installation scope and the points above in writing before you commit.

6 files from the manufacturerQuestions about 55EJ5G
Is the LG 55EJ5G still available from the manufacturer?
No. The manufacturer has discontinued the 55EJ5G, so this page serves buyers who already own one, buyers comparing models and anyone looking for a replacement. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar and we will check a current equivalent or a compatible replacement, then confirm availability within the quotation.
What is the LG 55EJ5G designed for?
It is a 55-inch OLED signage panel for showing content directly on a wall. It suits lobbies, reception areas and retail walls where the screen should blend into the interior. Its 1920 x 1080 OLED panel, 120 Hz refresh rate and 178-degree viewing angle suit moving promotional, wayfinding and brand content in corporate and hospitality spaces.
How thin is the panel and what does the separate signage box do?
The head measures 1220.3 x 696.8 x 4.9 mm and weighs 6.6 kg. The signage box, measuring 782.8 x 238.4 x 34.7 mm and weighing 3.4 kg, houses the signage electronics and can sit out of view. The two are linked by 1600 mm flat cables included in the box. Some dimensions are listed as to be confirmed, so we verify them during the site survey.
Would this panel suit a hotel lobby in West Bay?
Yes, as a single feature screen behind reception or on a lobby wall, provided the space is air-conditioned, because the operating range is 0 to 40 °C. Before ordering, a site survey should confirm the wall construction and the cable route to the signage box. The 4.9 mm head helps keep the wall looking clean.
Can I build a video wall from several 55EJ5G units?
Yes. The manufacturer describes horizontal and vertical tiling, a tile mode setting and a front-installation wall fixer system, with four fixers included. Units connect over a LAN daisy chain for control and firmware updates. The off-bezel width is listed at 0.9 mm, a figure that matters when planning the gaps between screens.
Can it run in an unconditioned corridor in Al Wakrah?
Not safely. The listed operating temperature is 0 to 40 °C with 10 to 80 percent humidity, and summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 °C. The panel also draws about 309 W in typical use, which adds heat. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to review the room climate and cooling load before you request a quotation.
What brightness and contrast does it offer for a bright lobby?
The panel is listed at 150 nits at full-field white and 400 nits at 25 percent average picture level, with 150,000:1 contrast and a hard-coated surface with typical reflectance of 1.2 percent. These figures suit controlled indoor lighting better than direct daylight. If your lobby receives strong light, a site survey can help choose a position.
Does the on-screen menu support Arabic?
Yes. The on-screen display language list includes Arabic alongside English, French, German and many other languages. This suits offices in Doha that work in Arabic and English side by side, since staff can set the menu to their preferred language. The content you show still needs to be prepared in the languages you require.
Which inputs and ports does it have for connecting a source?
It has one HDMI input with HDCP 1.4, one DisplayPort input with HDCP 1.3, two USB 2.0 Type A ports, RS-232C in and out, LAN in and out, an external IR receiver, a DisplayPort output and an audio output. It has no DVI or analogue RGB input and no built-in speaker, so plan external audio if sound is needed.
Can our IT team manage the screens over the network?
Yes, through the LAN ports and the software listed for the model, including SuperSign CMS v3.0, SuperSign Control v1.7 and v1.9, and Signage 365 Care v2.9. Features include SNMP, status mailing, Wake on LAN and group management. The data also lists Crestron integration and 16GB of internal memory for local content scheduling.
Can a government waiting area in Msheireb run a static information screen all day?
Not as the default plan. The listed operation rating is 18 hours a day for moving content only, so a static information screen left on all day would fall outside that rating. Plan rotating moving content with scheduled off-hours, and ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm your use case before placing the order.
Can I order through an LPO and get a site survey first?
Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs), government tenders including Monaqasat, and payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Free site surveys are available before wall mounting, which matters for a 55-inch panel with a separate signage box. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
