Overview

The LG 55LV77A-7B is a 55-inch FHD LCD unit made to be joined with identical panels into a video wall. It offers 700 nits brightness, 2.25mm and 1.25mm bezels, and inputs including HDMI, DVI-D and DisplayPort, with a DisplayPort output for passing the signal on. Suited to control rooms, operations centres and corporate reception areas in Qatar. The manufacturer has discontinued this model, so we can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement.

What the LG 55LV77A-7B is

The LG 55LV77A-7B is a 55-inch member of the LV77A narrow-bezel LCD video wall range. Its panel offers 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD resolution and a brightness rating of 700 cd/m², and it is built to be joined with identical units into a larger display. The manufacturer has discontinued this model. This page is written for organisations that already run a wall built from these panels, and for buyers comparing them with newer video wall units.

Bezels, inputs and mounting

On a tiled wall, the frame around each screen is the first thing viewers notice. This unit has a 2.25mm bezel on the left and top and a 1.25mm bezel on the right and bottom, so the gap between neighbouring units stays small. Each head weighs 23.2 kg, measures 1213.4 x 684.2 x 88.5 mm and uses a 600 x 400 mm VESA mounting interface.

Inputs include one DVI-D, two HDMI and one DisplayPort with HDCP, plus RGB, a shared component input, AV, PC audio in and a USB port. Control is handled through RS232C, RJ45 and an IR receiver. The DisplayPort output, audio output and RS232C output let a feed and control commands pass on to the next unit in the chain.

Power, certification and software

The built-in power supply accepts 100-240V at 50/60Hz. Typical consumption is 230 W, falling to 130 W in Smart Energy Saving mode, with 0.7 W in DPM standby and 0.5 W when switched off. The model is listed with UL, cUL, CB, TUV and KC safety approvals, FCC Class B, CE and KCC EMC approvals, and Energy Star 6.0. For content, it is compatible with SuperSign-w lite and SuperSign-c, and it can take an external media player.

Where it fits in Qatar

Operations rooms: a control room at an industrial site in Mesaieed or Ras Laffan, where several screens show plant status side by side. Because the operating range is 0°C to 40°C, the room must be properly air-conditioned and kept clear of dust.
Corporate reception: a headquarters in West Bay or Lusail showing directions and company news on one narrow-bezel wall.
Training and media rooms: a training centre in Education City or Al Sadd presenting lectures and classroom material on a multi-panel display.

What to plan before you order

Check the 0°C to 40°C and 10% to 80% humidity limits against the room, especially where summer heat from glazing could build up.
Design the wall structure around the 600 x 400 mm mounting interface and the 23.2 kg weight of each head.
Confirm the grid size and which sources feed the wall.
Book a free site survey before the mounts are fixed.
Government and public buyers can order against an LPO or a tender, and pay by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order.

Questions about 55LV77A-7B

Is the LG 55LV77A-7B still sold new?

LG has discontinued the 55LV77A-7B, so SmartRooms Qatar quotes for a current equivalent or a compatible replacement instead of this exact unit. Send us the number of panels, the grid layout and the inputs you need. The team reviews the requirement and usually issues a quotation within one working day.

What is this panel designed for?

It is a 55-inch FHD LCD unit made to be joined with identical panels into a video wall. With 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 700 cd/m² brightness and narrow bezels, it suits control rooms, operations centres and corporate reception areas where one image must span several screens. Plan the full grid before ordering, not one screen at a time.

How wide is the gap between two panels placed side by side?

The bezel is 2.25mm on the left and top and 1.25mm on the right and bottom. When two units sit side by side, the gap between their visible edges is the right bezel of the first unit plus the left bezel of the second, which is 3.5mm. Enter that figure in your wall drawing before fixing the mounts, and ask us about a free site survey if the wall dimensions are tight.

Which inputs and outputs does it have?

Inputs include one DVI-D, two HDMI, one DisplayPort with HDCP, plus RGB, a shared component input, AV, PC audio in and a USB port. Outputs are one DisplayPort, an audio out and an RS232C port. RS232C, RJ45 and an IR receiver handle control. Tell us which sources will feed the wall when you request a quote.

Can it show content from a media player or signage software?

Yes. The manufacturer data lists the model as compatible with SuperSign-w lite and SuperSign-c, and it can take an external media player attached. If your wall runs looped announcements or wayfinding in a lobby, confirm the player and software arrangement with our team while the quotation is prepared.

Will it work on Qatar's 240 V mains supply?

The built-in power supply is rated for 100-240V at 50/60Hz. Qatar's mains supply is 240 V at 50 Hz, which falls inside that range. Typical consumption is 230 W per unit, dropping to 130 W in Smart Energy Saving mode, so budget the electrical load for a multi-unit wall at the planning stage with your electrical contractor.

Can it be installed near a window in a Doha office?

The operating range is 0°C to 40°C with 10% to 80% humidity. Outdoor temperatures in Doha can exceed 45°C in summer and dust storms are common, so a unit close to glass or an entrance needs its room conditions checked. Ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm the site environment during the free site survey before you agree on the location.

What does the wall mount need to support?

The VESA mounting interface is 600 x 400 mm and each head weighs 23.2 kg, so the wall structure and brackets must carry that load across the whole grid. A free site survey checks the wall, fixing points and cable routes before installation. Tell us the wall construction type when you request a quote.

How can it be controlled from a central room?

It offers RS232C and RJ45 control ports and an IR receiver, and the basic accessories include a remote controller and an RS-232C cable. If your operations room uses a central control system, send us the system and protocol details so we can confirm compatibility before ordering. Do not assume compatibility from the port list alone.

Can a government ministry order several units through an LPO?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar supplies government ministries and authorities against purchase orders (LPOs) and tender requirements, including Monaqasat tenders. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. For a multi-panel video wall, state the quantity, grid layout and delivery location in your tender request so the quotation covers every unit.

What should I check when replacing a failed panel in an existing wall?

Because the 55LV77A-7B is discontinued, match any replacement to the existing wall. Check the 2.25mm and 1.25mm bezels, the 600 x 400 mm mounting interface, the 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and your current input layout. Send photos of the wall and its control setup, and we will propose a current equivalent and confirm how well it fits in the quotation.
